| nnck | Simply put, if you are in AZ and love beer there is no other place to go.

| nbutler11 | It’s hard to ask for more without sacrificing something this place is just solid all-around. Excellent bar food, selection, service, and atmosphere fr anyone looking to duck in from the heat and enjoy a few beers.

rustychiles | Best beer bar in Arizona hands down. They have 30 tap handles that are constantly rotating with stuff that you just don’t see on tap other places. On top of that they update the list almost daily on their website so you know what they’re pouring. They also have a huge beer cooler wall where you can buy bottles to enjoy in the bar or to go. I’ve heard that there are close to 500 different bottles to choose from, but haven’t counted. They also offer growlers of their fantastic line of beers as well. As for the food, I had the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and it was fantastic. The wife had the Bruschetta which was just okay. But who’s really hear for the food anyways, the beer selection here is amazing.

eaglefan538 | A nice stop if you’re headed out of the Sky Harbor airport and have a few hours to kill ahead of time. This place has roughly 30 taps always on draft, featuring 5 or so of their own alongside some pretty nice guest beers, all of very good quality (which definitely makes the Yard House’s 128 seem excessive). The service is average, although the help to get a box that was just right for travel home was appreciated. The food is decent, the atmosphere a little upscale sporty (including a cigar area, supposedly pretty good, but I wouldn’t know - has since been discontinued by city ordinance), and the pricing ok.

Taverner | Great for beer! Not only do they have some excellent brews on tap (I consider myself lucky to have their Hop Dog from cask) but they also have an excellent selection in the fridge to take home!

Sparky27 | Incredible bottled beer selection in their “wall of beers” cooler, as well as a good selection on tap. All beers are served in the appropriate glass and the service is fast - nice that each waiter serves every table so you’re not stuck waiting for yours to come back from a break. Food is terrific - pizza is way better than I expected. A cool, eclectic vibe to it also – nice and laid back. This is the type of place you take an out-of-town guest to hang out and catch up. I highly recommend this place.

ajm | Probably the best place in Arizona to drink places high in the running for best in the western US. The only definite points it loses are for ambiance because the area isn’t rustic enough to keep it from its strip-mall habitat. The food is underrated and under-tried. The help is educated and thoughtful they will remember your face. On the whole, I’d call it under-atended for how well-executed it is, but it has its regulars absolutely hooked, so is in no danger they don’t advertise because they don’t need to.

| infinitetease | I live in Tucson and don’t get to Papago very often, but I always look forward to my visits there.
Their bottled beer selection is huge, and rivals any liquor store in the state. There is also an eclectic and ever-changing selection of draft beers.
The food is OK, but this is more a place to drink than eat.

| yemenmocha | Pros:
best beer draft selection in the Phoenix area. Bottles are amazing.
Cons:
1. Atmosphere - rowdy college campus like feel to it. Vomit in the bathrooms recently when I’ve been there.
2. Service - I’ve been here many times (the beer selection is great!) but I always manage to get the server who never notices me. I’ve also encountered a few people who don’t know the draft menu well. Often employees are rude.
3. Beer Menu - the menu on the web is rarely current, as well as the one they hand you in the pub itself.
4. Food - Maybe my palate is off, but the pizza could be better. It has a pre-prepped character too it, almost as if the pizza is Red Barron or Tony’s.
So, for the beer alone, Papago can’t be beat. If you’re a bit older and the other factors matter then I recommend trying this place during the day, preferably on a weekday. Don’t get me wrong - normally it’s great when they have this sort of selection, and I give them credit for that, but there’s more to an establishment than the selection alone.

GlenVargas | I visited Papago on a Saturday afternoon before a D-Backs game. Some college football was playing on a big-screen TV, and there was hardly anyone there. I looked at the 30 taps and got a beer almost immediately. The tap selection was pretty diverse, but I was more impressed by the size of the "carry-out" selection. There was only the one bartender working at that time, but she was incredibly nice and never made us wait for beers. The atmosphere was very laid back, and the decor was pretty cool. Papago seems like a perfect place to kick back, watch some football and take advantage of high-speed wireless internet. Unfortunately, I did try any food.
