Avoid this. Decent selection of macros, at OK prices. But most of the beers are more than a year past their sell by date. This is cheating their customers, and there is no excuse for this. They may be smiling and happy to put the beers in boxes - but their beers are not drinkable. Several years in bright light would kill off robust beers - not to mention pale lagers!

My favourite spot in Prague. Great selection of beers, quiet atmosphere, friendly and helpful staff (and definitely forbearing, our group was rather loud) and absolutely reasonable prices. Terrific place for a comfortable afternoon session!

Very good beer selection; about 120 Czech and 70 rather standard Belgian and German beers. Cheaper than Galerie Piva near Charles Bridge. Bought 13 beers for 366Kč (14€). In backroom there was a Club PPG (local beer lovers society) meeting. We started a conversation with the owner about small Czech breweries that are standing up large multinational breweries. After few minutes he said: "You can’t talk to me while you’re thirsty" and brought us two glasses of Rohozec Skalák Světlý Speciál 13°, and after a while he served us beer schnapps (Pivovica). The owner (Petr) is genuin beer enthusiast and we really have enjoyed that hour spent with him.

small shop with a pretty decent selection. they had a lot of czech brews, a belgian section, and a german section. beers were priced relatively fairly (about 65Kc, or roughly $3-4 for a .33L bottle). i’ve seen some of these beers in the states for significantly more. just a runaround: orval, delirium, chimay, rochefort, kwak, unibroue, primator. just one 6x3ft shelf for the belgians and one for the germans. they also have a small section off to the side where you can taste (though i’ve never tried it). the czech beer section is the biggest (obviously), and those are all about 15-30Kc ($1-2). lots of brews from lesser known czech breweries. about 70% of the selection is czech. the owner was very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable, and he spoke decent english. it is a bit out of the way (take the 3 tram from downtown and it’ll get you about 2 blocks away), but definitely worth the trip. they have an okay selection of glassware, but nothing amazing (just your standard chimay glasses and crap, nothing rare). best bottle shop i’ve found so far in prague, so give it a try. UPDATE: spoke to the owner and he said a new shipment of belgians is due at the beginning of november...

Went here on our way home from Prague. It was closed... so we went to the great, modern restaurant further down the street (Pier 22, I think). Good food, friendly service, nice prices... well... Pivni Galerie opened in the meantime. Good parking facilities though you have to pay (a limited amount). Nice selection inside - lots of hard-to-get Czech beers as well as a decent Belgian selection (even some I’ve haven’t had). Bought home a few plastic bags. Fair prices. Service was more or less mute as they probably wondered what I was doing with my 4-5 sheets of paper inked up with lines and beer names.

Visited in 2006 to get bottles. Tried to visit 2008, but they were closed the two days we were able to get there. Nice selection of beers. Visited once more in May of 2009, got some beers. All the tables were reservedthis day.

Awesome selction of Czech bottles, and a quick look at the international selection it also looked pretty decent. The backroom with two taps of quality beers looked like there were quite a few locals visiting. It was just around the corner from my hotel, but it’s 200 metres from a tram stop and 2 kilometres from the Holesovice metro.

This beer shop is a bit out of the way, but it was worth the long work. Quit nice selection of beers I must say, bought about 12 different beers. Service was friendly and very helpful, but did not understand much English. Seemed like there was a bar in the back of the shop, but I did not go back there. Defiantly the shop to go to when in Prague!

Great place. Just about every Czech beer which is bottled and distributed is available but few surprises really. Czech beer is way better on tap anyway. But around the corner is a really quiet, dark little bar with a rotating selection of two hard-to-find beers. Library-style is right, there was really a really quiet, reserved kind of vibe which is fairly rare for the CR. When we visited the beers on tap were Žatec Nefiltrovaný and Krakonoš 12°, both of which were fantastic and can be found nowhere else in Prague. Essential.

Nice and quiet, friendly(yet bit weird) staff. Many many different Czech beers.
