December 27, 2009 Went after Knoxville Brewers Jam and walked from hotel. Easy to find location in Market Square. Remodeled older building with bar on the middle right wall. Coolers of beers under bar and 9 taps. Freindly staff and where quick with a beer. No food but you can order from local shop and they will deliver. Good crowd during beer fest. Enjoyed the visit and will return when in the area. |

September 5, 2009 Very fun bar. Good music. Great "speakeasy" backroom to try to get into. Beer selection is about as good as it gets in Knoxville i’d imagine. Cool location |

August 29, 2009 Good bottle section, limited taps (less than 10) overall OK, not the best in town |

July 24, 2009 Preservation was a welcome addition to Knoxville in general and market square in particular (if you recall the lack of anything after 6pm that existed 8-10 years ago). The pluses are a nice bottle selection and a great locaiton on the square for people watching. The minuses are too loud if bands are playing (great if you’re there for the music, hard to have a conversation if not). Kudos to them for bringing people (and good beer) back to the square. |

June 30, 2009 I avoid this place when they have a band playing, it gets very crowded. Decent tap list and as big a bottle list as you can get in Knoxville. Have always had good service. No food on certain nights is a little odd but they will provide a pizza buffet or you can just bring your own from somewhere else on Market Square. |

February 23, 2008 Nice pub... it does get crowded if anything is going on... I like it better if it’s just an afternoon before anything gets going in town. Pretty good selection of bottles... taps are a little limited, but you can still get a couple of great beers on tap usually. |

March 18, 2007 [ Updated October 30, 2009 ] Good downtown pub with nice selection of drafts , but one of the better selections of high ABV beers (6% and up). Gets pretty crowded after 7. |

October 19, 2006 The only thing really wrong with this place is how damned smoky it gets, but overall, one of the best pubs I’ve set foot in! |

August 27, 2006 When packed this place is definately rockin. Live music pretty much every night of the week. Service is usually fairly good. Decent selection of good beer. |

August 11, 2006 Interesting place, though the owner was just arrested for drug trafficking. Decent selection of beers for Knoxville. And, as NachlamSie said, free pizza is available during happy hour (but be quick, each pie dissappears almost immediately). The major drawback is the layout. When it gets busy, it is almost impossible to get around the bar because it is so close to the booths along the weall. And if a band is playing, it takes a battle to get to the restrooms. |
