| chriso (161), London, England | | October 27, 2009 Always nice to drop in here as it was one of my old haunts during my university days at Liverpool back in the 1970s. It was a real ale mecca back then as there was not much cask beer (except Higsons) around town in those days and a pint of Tetleys was something of an exotic treat. Not quite a beer mecca these days (although the Burton is not easy to find elsewhere) but there are a couple of guest taps that might have something of interest. Otherwise the place is pretty much unchanged. Cosy and traditional boozer with original period fittings and several small rooms. Don’t think they do food. | | Svesse (88), Hässelby, Sweden | | October 8, 2009 Very nice and cosy, traditional pub tucked away from the buzz. Small bar with three small rooms leading off from the central corridor. Six real ales, tried a spicy and gingery, well kept Anglo Dutch Dusk till Dawn on my visit in July 2009. Friendly and efficient service. Definitely worth a visit. | | lada66 (46), Savonlinna, Finland | | March 25, 2009 A nice place with three very small rooms. Six real ales on tap and six other beers. A very nice atmosphere thanks to friendly landlord (25.2.09). |
