4 reviews for Roys Market
| guyinchicago (22), marengo, Illinois | | September 18, 2009 I cannot believe that this place has a higher score than new Glarus brewery so you can save about 50 cents on a sixer this place wouldn’t even exist on this sight if it weren’t for the brewery it is a mom and pops grocery store and the only real beer they have is new glarus and they do have a lot, but to have this rated higher than the brewery is very disrepectful | | CanIHave4Beers (56), Des Moines, Iowa | | July 23, 2009 This is the place to buy New Glarus beer, when you are in New Glarus. They’ve got just about anything that’s out from New Glarus in a big ol’ display. Not to mention the awesome pint glasses for a buck fifty with the New Glarus logo on one side and the Roy’s Market logo on the other (which is an awesome logo). Beyond the lil corner o’ New Glarus stuff, they have a pretty standard grocery store beer selection... You can get some Bells stuff, some Capital stuff, other WI micros are around but not in abundance. The staff is very nice, but it is indeed a grocery store, and beer is in no way their specialty. They tried to get me a "better bottle" of Raspberry Tart one time because the one I got had too much "stuff" in the bottom of the bottle. They meant well but..... | | Homer321 (10), Rockledge, Florida | | July 30, 2008 well, think of going to the new glarus brewery, but paying much less. I cant blame the brewery for charging more, afterall, it’s better to support the brewer, distributor and Roy all in one shopping experience. Good choice of lots of beer. GO THERE | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | January 9, 2008 Here’s all you need to know: A supermarket located 1/4 mile S from New Glarus on the main highway, with 750s of Raspberry Tart and Belgian Red for $7.50 each, or $84 with a case discount (compare with $8.75/$104 case - no discount - AT New Glarus). Singles of everything available at the brewery plus a few more. It’s kind of sad when the store next door has a better selection and better prices than the actual brewery, but beer travelers should be aware of this store so they can save a few bucks and also find a few things that New Glarus maybe doesn’t have. |
