June 13, 2009 Been there twice in the span of a few days. First @ the bar, then a table. The waitstaff and hostesses are very friendly and despite being terribly busy, our wait for a table was not very long at all. Their two beers they have available at this time are decent and I enjoyed them even though the styles weren’t my favorite.
A definite welcome addition to the Solomons area. |
June 11, 2009 Went on the "opening night." They had two of their beers on tap: Breezy Point & Stonepile. I’d put the Breezy Point right up there with Hoegarden. Neither style is my cup o’ tea, so I’m looking forward to the rest of their stuff coming on line. They also had Loose Cannon, Pilsner Urquell, Old Dominion Oak Barrel & a few others on hand. The food was great, actually. My friend ordered ribs, which he complained about to me (bland). The chef just happens to pop up at his elbow & asks him how the ribs were. My friend said they were bland, & the chef says, "hold on, I’ll go back & make you some spicy ones." He comes back about 10mins later w/yet another half rack + grits, on the house, & they were amazing (my friend had me share since he’d already eaten most of his original order). That’s above & beyond, in my book. I also ate the duck-a-dilla (duck quesadilla), which was pretty ok - couldn’t really taste the duck; and the Argentinian cheese puffs, which were awesome, but they only came with three on the plate. I think I could’ve eaten a dozen of those things. |
