| beersearcher (12), Glendale, California | | October 22, 2009 Big cavernous room and large bar sort of work against creating an ambiance. Selection and service are quite good. Limited to their own beer of course. Prices seem a bit on the high side. | | mrhoppy (59), Santa Clara, California | | June 30, 2009 This place represents beer the way it should. Out of the way but well worth the trip. Great food and beer. Cool tour and memorabilia. Must see! | c17pete (4), Travis AFB, does not count - explanation | | February 1, 2009 Excellent selections of beer on tap, beers you can’t get many places. food was good and services was good. Excellent place to visit in the spring. | Cory (2), , California does not count - explanation | | September 24, 2008 The restaurant is actually pretty fun for a few friends to sit out on the patio and have a few beers. The 14 beer taster is really good to get a full selection of different brews. I suggest going in the winter so you can get the Bigfoot barley wine. While you are there grab a few six packs. One of the servers told me he had a 15 y/o bigfoot that tasted pretty amazing. I wouldb’t say go out of your way but it is a great place to sit on the patio, drink and have a few snacks. | | Braudog (478), Dayton, Ohio | | April 8, 2008 [ Updated April 9, 2008 ] April 2008 - I drove 75 minutes to get here, and I must say, I was a bit let down. What I discovered is a massive compound of commercialism, complete with a gaudy overpriced gift shop. The tour is a self-guided walk above their impressive brewhouse, complete with gigantic Euro-style copper kettles in an open-air sudhaus. The connected restaurant is just another wanna-be-upscale restaurant/pub that happens to serve the entire collection of SN regulars, plus a couple you might not find elsewhere (although all the beers were quite centerist and unadventurous). The food was good enough, if unoriginal. The service in the restaurant was indifferent at best, as if they could care less. All the staff seemed more interested in flirting amongst themselves than with keeping my beer glass full. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood, but I’d put this in my files along with other ’original’ craft breweries that are now nothing short of Busch Juniors (see Pyramid, Portland, Big Rock, et al) and won’t go out of my way again. (Brewery #454, 4/8/2008) | | ChillCoat (43), Concord, California | | February 5, 2008 I always stop in when I’m in town. The food is great. The beer is great. They usually have a one-off or two on tap. Very nice vibe and the service is great. | ojclark (5), Santa Monica, California does not count - explanation | | January 1, 2008 Very nice room with lots of wood and lots of copper (bartop, taps, even the air conditioning duct). Nice view of one of the brewing rooms from the waiting area. Food was good, especially the gorgonzola pasta my wife ordered. Beer sampler contained every beer they served on draft, 14 total the night I went (very nice!) | adrenalin112 (2), west covina, California does not count - explanation | | June 11, 2007 nice clean place that is wonderfully relaxed at lunch time. helpful staff that knows their food and brew line well.
selection is purely sierra, with some nice aged and cask varieties.
high quality pub food. must see! | | littlecarp (10), Redding, California | | May 11, 2007 Great food, good service, but the beer was mediocre at best. | | bhensonb (291), Woodland, California | | April 23, 2007 Downer: lack of cask ale - at least in my experience.
Upper: great selection of ale and the food is first rate. |
