At first I thought the other comments were being a little harsh, but then I started rating it and came up with similar numbers. Ambiance is Loud, even away from the bar. If i am eating dinner with my family I do not want to have to talk over the TV’s. Turn on close captioning or just turn it down a notch. Service was excellent could not ask for mroe. Selection of beer is decent for a microchain, I specifically liked the Cherokee Red. The biggest problem is there is not a whole lot of choices in Knoxville. Sadly enough this is one of the better choices. Food is decent though nothing stands out. Value is good. Decent food decent beer and decent price? Pretty good value in my book. Overall I felt underwhelmed after leaving. Normally after leaving a place I either really loved it or hated it. This place was right in the middle for me.

This really doesn’t differ much from the other Smoky Mountain Breweries, except perhaps in the clientele. Catering to a somewhat pretentious crowd makes it a little less of a comfortable hangout than the other locations. But they still have 8 or so house brews on tap at a time, with bottles available. Happy hour is the time to hit it, very good deals then.

White, upper middle class suburbia at its finest. Cheap undistinguished beer and food, with TV sports blaring so you don’t have to think or talk. Plenty of upscale consumer-type shopping surrounding the place, to help you get more numb. Probably a good destination for most, but as you can tell it just ain’t my thing.

Cheaper ingredients, but a cheaper pint. Can be a good trade sometimes. Easy to watch a basketball game here. Place is very fresh, very new.

Has carry out bottles of SMB, standard SMB taps and the seasonal tap. The food is different than Calhoun’s, more sports bar type grub. Mediocre but serviceable.

I visited this brewpub during a recent business trip to Knoxville. The hotel I was staying at didn’t carry VS on the TV, so I ventured out to watch the Penguins playoff game, and ended up here. Located in a suburban shopping area with plenty of parking, a nice outdoor seating area, and lots of thirsty patrons. Beers are decent, about what you’d expect from this type of place. The stout was the best, but wasn’t a show stopper. Bar area was clean, with seating for 15 or so. Lots of TV’s to stare at, too. Great service from the bartender made the visit even better. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Fair selection of their beers on tap. Food is good with a fair selection. Place to eat outside which is nice. Enjoy their Cherokee Red. They also have a seasonal selection of beer.

Well, if you have been to any of the other Smoky Mountain locations, you can know what to expect. Typical middle class brewpub ambiance with tasty and reasonably priced, though predictable food fare. The beer was just as decent as the Pigeon Forge location and probably superior to the Gatlinburg location. Service was friendly and prompt on a Saturday afternoon. Fuel TV was on at the bar which scored big points with me. Hey, it is without surprises, but is a recommendable place to get a taste of local beer.

Seems a bit too sports baresque for my taste. We went on a Tuesday night and the place was packed and the TV’s were blaring. Service was good, though, and the food was tasty and reasonably priced. The beer was the usual Calhouns / Smoky Mountain fare, so nohing really ground breaking there. It was tasty and fresh, however.
