8 reviews for Taverne Manneken Pis
| DarioSpezza (10), , Italy | | November 24, 2009 Not a bad place, decent beer, food not as decent, one good thing is that the Poechenellekelder it’s just in front of you.
go there. | | eManu (22), Brussels, Belgium | | October 21, 2009 A real typical Belgian taverne, with great beers and great food value. Just across the little guy (petit bonhomme) The service was really nice, I had a lassagna for 7 Eur and a Maredsous 8 on tab, so less than 10 Eurs for dinner is not bad for Brussels. There’s plenty of beers on the menu. But I stay with the Maredsous 8 draft, for me its on of the best. | | marcus (89), Sacramento, California | | July 31, 2009 Visited this place with bhensonb. It’s a real interesting interior. Lots of antiques and character. The beer list is rather short, but there are a few decent brews available. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | July 20, 2009 If looking for a decent beer in a classic older venue, this would be one choice. Hanging puppets, antique guns, must and dust. Seating fairly comfortable. Got in and out fast while Poechenellekelder was jammed with a tour group or two. Worth a visit to see how these places used to be put together. | | Dedollewaitor (75), Odense, Denmark | | March 31, 2009 Small, warm and cozy pub in a triangle from poechenellekelder and Mannekin pis. 10 taps, 50 bottles. Nothing rare though, but OK standard for Brussels even. | | gary07734 (23), , England | | June 4, 2008 Visited this twice when in Brussels.
You can guess by the name it’s a bit on the touristy side therefore more expensive than other places but it’s very well presented and cozy.
Decent selection of beers and on tap, nothing rare but all in proper glasses and served well. They also did a reasonable taster of 3 small glasses of widely available beer (Chouffe, a kriek and a local wheat beer when I visited)
Very smoky is my only complaint of this place, but then so is the rest of Belgium :-( I stank of smoke all weekend. It’s about time Belgium caught up with the rest of the world and got rid. | | JoeinUccle (138), Brussels, Belgium | | January 8, 2008 There’s no real reason for beer nerds to come here when the Poechenellekelder is across the street. However, the traditional Belgian food here is pretty good and reasonably priced. (But good food is not hard to find in Brussels.) I enjoyed the rabbit cooked in kriek on my visit. Beer selection is a notch better than most tourist traps, but not worth seeking out. It does have a warm, old-school atmosphere about the place. Let’s put it this way: You might pop over here for a bite if you’re family’s hungry and tired of snacking on cheese cubes and spaghetti bolo at your beer bars. | | swoopjones (115), Buffalo, New York | | November 5, 2007 Decent little place acrross from Mannekin Pis. 6 draft lines (Maredsous 6 & 8, La Chouffe, Lindemans Kriek among the few). About 40 or so bottles (Trappist no westy though, Lindemans lineup, Delirium lineup, Karmelit, kwak etc.) comfortable place, small little bar, nice waitress. better selection across the street @ Le Poechekeller
