August 10, 2009 a chance find during a week long stay in the area. mall place on a street full of bars. Got a bit crowded but getting to the bar was still manageable and the bar tenders seemed to know how to pour drinks properly. Tried one of the house beers and it was decent. Tried food once and they seemed to have good upper scale bar fare. A absolute try if you are in the Adams Morgan area. |

December 29, 2008 Had after dinner drinks at this place after a recommendation from a friend. What a find! Bartender was extremely nice and had a strong knowledge of beers, recommending several styles that were all as he described. I plan to make this a regular spot going forward as the crowd was very friendly, service was speedy, and the bar itself just feels like home. |

September 11, 2008 narrow, cozy bar. Small selection of draught beers and a large selection of bottles. Staff was friendly. I didn’t eat there - can’t comment on that. They didn’t offer me a glass with my bottled beer, but otherwise a really nice beer bar. I’ll be back when I’m back in DC. |

August 21, 2008 The Black Squirrel is a beer bar in Adams Morgan. They have about 70 different beers and the are all of quality. The service is excellent. Paul and Scott are knowledgeable bartenders and beer enthusiasts. They are always willing to go out of their way to facilitate customer requests and tailor their bar to the patrons which is very genuine. They will be selling their own labeled beer soon and I am excited for them in that regard. If your looking for a nice quiet place to enjoy the game and a good brew this is the place to come in Adams Morgan. Oh and the food is excellent especially the duck spring rolls. |
