Great college bar with a graduate feel. Beer selection is more than sufficient. The food is very good with plenty of local offereings like delicious fried or blackened alligator, raw oysters and above average crawfish etouffee. One of the best bar-restaurant places in town.

A nce looking, good sized, LSU college bar. It really is your average college bar with 2 exceptions: 1. There is a great selection of both draft and bottled beer 2. The food is free-f****ng-nomenal! I had a limited adition Abita beer (Saison Select), a more accesibale Abita beer (Andygator), BBQ New Orleans style shrimp (outstanding) and sausage and duck gumbo. I have had my share of gumbo all over southern louisiana, and I make a pretty mean gumbo myself. I can say, without hesitation, that the sausage and duck gumbo was the best bowl of gumbo I have ever had, peiod, no question about it. If you are looking for a good beer selection, go to Chimes. If you are looking for fantastic food, go to Chimes. If you are looking for both....go to Chimes. Outstanding.

College bar located just off the campus of LSU. Has about 30 taps - some Belgians, Brits and Germans among the mix. About 60 different bottles, decent import selection; fair micro selection. When I was here, had a Abita AndyGator, SNPA on tap and a Boddingon Ale. The Crawfish PoBoy was decent as were the crab cakes I had for an appetizer. Can get smoky!
