This place has changed alot since I first went there years ago. First they got liquor and their emphasis changed away from good beers... too bad really, cause it used to be quite a cool beer bar with an interesting variety of non-pub pub food. maybe they’ll come full circle someday?? Afterall, this site is called rateBEER... sorry.

I love this place. Huge, sprawling complex of rooms. Tons of pool tables. Tons of tvs. Tons of pretty much everything. Old building, cement floors. Huge old antique wild west saloon barback. Lots of taps. Well cared for, well-chosen. Not rare, not a beer geek bar at all. But a great place to get a sandwich and a beer, watch the game, catch a band, hang out. Used to be an absolutely wretched hive of scum and villainy in the 70s and 80s, but has completely rebounded from its trick-turnin’, junk-slingin’ past to put a proper pint and a proper plate of food in front of you. You could bring your grandmother here, or the mayor--if they don’t mind that it’s not too fancy.
