October 15, 2009 The good news - it’s still just $2.50 a pint! The bad news - everything else. In a cutsey part of tourist driven St Charles (right on the brick streets) - the beers are completely uninspired - brewed because they ’should’ have fresh beer. |

September 7, 2009 The atmosphere was very unique and welcoming. There is plenty of space for large groups and dining. The beer selection was minimal and consisted of common genres of beer. |

July 2, 2009 Wife and I visited early on a Sunday afternoon. Crowd was light and the three girls at the hostess stand acted like they would have rather been any place but at work. I had the mexican pizza and the wife had a brat, both were very good. The beer was very average. Nice setting in historic downtown with brewing equipment throughout the building. Wonderful aroma of boiling wort greets you at the door. |

February 23, 2009 Average beers with decent food. This place was very loud on a Friday night visit. The parking is suspect in this touristy neighborhood. we had a friendly waiter that knew his stuff about the beer. the best thing I tried was a winter style lager. I would skip over this place and hit one of the other brewpubs in the St. Louis area, but may be worth a stop if you are staying in St. Charles or Earth City as I was. |

August 3, 2008 Bottom line avoid this place. Go about a block down and go for a walk and enjoy the views of a really quaint part of St. Charles or hike down the biking trails. Not crazy about my experiencehere. They are trying to have an upscale image and obviously the owners or management have come from a strong chain background. It comes across as a chain without being one. Slightly snotty staff, with an emphasis that is not really on the beers. which are well made, but simple and sompletely average at best. Typical yuppy crowd, simple beers, and food for simple people. Drive on into town and go to Buffalo and have a better experience. |

July 12, 2008 Very nice Brewery in historic area of St Charles. Decor is inviting. Great Place to take out of towner’s. Beer quality is hit and miss. There beer seems to be better quality during the fall & winter months. Typically a good selection on tap. Menu has many good choices. Growlers are available. |

March 21, 2008 In a nice area of downtown St. Charles. Bought a sampler for 6.90 where I got to try all of their beers, which weren’t too exciting. The atmosphere was decent, the NCAA tournament was going on and people were cheering loudly (as was I) for Belmont. The waitress was nice but the food was kind of bland - burger and fries was the fare for today. They had some expensive souvenirs available for sale and after the mediocre selections, I passed. |

January 29, 2008 (Visited 08/2007): Trailhead Brewing Co is located in St. Charles in a quaint little area on Riverside Drive. There are a couple small parking lots adjacent, as well as parking along the entire street.
The restored building is really pretty, boasting a large tank in the back that is emblazoned with the logo. Inside there are multiple levels with a bar on the main floor. The atmoshphere is rustic.
Trailhead offers 6 different beers with one being a seasonal. They have a sampler for a little under $7 so you can try all the beers. They range from Light to Stout with nothing too unique. All of the beers are average at best.
Service is good at this brewpub. Our server knew all of the beers and was clearly knowledgeable about what was on the sampler. She made good food recommendations too.
Speaking of food, it made up somewhat for the lackluster beers. The crab & artichoke dip was pretty tasty. The BBQ chicken was a little dry but overall pretty good, and the fries were great.
All in all the good outweighs the not-so-good at this establishment, but it’s too bad that the not-so-good is the main reason I wanted to visit in the first place. I would give this place another shot but honestly none of the beers made me think I really had to come back the next time I visit St. Louis. |

January 3, 2008 Despite the quaint riverfront setting, this brewpub is unfortunately about as mediocre as it gets. But you take what you can get. The regular beers were in poor condition on our visit, sour in the wrong places, but the seasonal smoked Scotch ale was a tasty surprise. The food was mostly decent, fried pub food in large portions, but overpriced. We did have good service. The place is spacious with nice TVs at the bar, if you need to catch a game. |

August 7, 2007 Visited 8/4/07. Old brick warehouse building by the Missouri River, in the touristy "Old Capitol" historic district. So a nice brewpub ambiance. Mix of tourists and locals. Only had time for one beer before I the O’Fallon tour, so I tried their seasonal honey wheat. Looked wonderful, taste was just about average. But a nice attentive staff, clean restrooms make it more of a decent restaurant that happens to make beer. If I had time on the way back next day, I’d hoped to sample their regular lineup. At least it’s just a few miles from the STL airport and right off I-70. |
