| dkachur (39), Charlottesville, Virginia | | October 5, 2008 Came here between World Beer Festival sessions as well as after the festival.
If you like the industrial vibe, this place is for you.
We ran into lots of servers, who ranged from friendly and attentive to downright incompetent.
Lots of seating indoors and out.
Food was tasty and simple.
Impressive selection of beer, truly living up to the taphouse moniker. Highly recommended. | doboy (7), Morehead City, North Carolina does not count | | October 5, 2008 Ate there between Swssions of the WBF. Sure it was crowded, but the service was sub par, and the food was below average. Salad came with meal. Burger was overdone and somewhat dry. Never got the water we requested.
Great draft beer selection! Can’t complain there.
Probably wouldn’t go back. Was not impressed. | | barleyPops (54), Quad-Cities, Illinois | | September 25, 2008 a very large place in a great location. I missed the Stone release party by two days, but was still able to get a snifter of the 2006 Double Bastard. ( which was fantastic!!! ) sat outside and was only here long enough to sip a couple of beers on a gorgeous afternoon. nice place. | | emacgee (25), Chapel Hill, North Carolina | | May 18, 2008 Finally tried this place out. I’ll say this much, the location is fantastic. I love what Durham did with this area. Girlfriend and I sat outside next to the river and had a few brews. They’ve got a good selection of brews on tap and in bottle. Lots of Rogue stuff, but thats a story all to itself. The food was good, nothing mind blowing but in my opinion thats not what you should be there for. | | JasonG (30), Cleveland, Ohio | | April 23, 2008 Big wide open restaurant/bar with exposed ducting that gives it a kind of industrial farmhouse feel. A pretty decent draft list, including things like several vintages of bigfoot, a couple of duck-rabbit beers, etc. Food was average bar food, the fries were pretty good though. A nice place. | | Megan (17), Durham, North Carolina | | December 5, 2007 Our favorite place! | earlofboydkins (8), does not count | | October 9, 2007 I cannot vouch for the food, but the beer selection is really good for the Durham area. This Taproom is in the recently renovated Durham Tobacco District, which is right beside the home of the Durham Bulls baseball team (of Bull Durham fame). Cool location, helpful service, solid draught selection, can be a little bit noisy, good selection of Carolina sourced beer. | | tronraner (86), Maryville, Tennessee | | July 31, 2007 The first thing I noticed about this place is how huge it is in area. We were seated quickly and I asked for a beer list... I was brought a giant tome labeled "Beer Bible." It’s kind of padded to make it seem more absurd than it is, but they truly do have an extensive draught selection. Worth a visit. | | 00cobraR (26), Greensboro, North Carolina | | July 6, 2007 Nice little bar. Much better than the one in Carboro. Has a lot of taps. Lots of big beers. I was pleased with this place. Its in a cool location as well. | | ucusty (53), Wake Forest, North Carolina | | June 25, 2007 [ Updated August 1, 2007 ] Didnt try any food however the menu looked decent. Service was wonderful bar-tender gave me plenty of samples and was quite knowledgeable about beer | View Page : 1 2
