| blutt59 (51), Dallas, Texas | | November 4, 2009 Good mix of their own and other local taps, parking is tough but nice brewpub with good food when you finally get in, reasonable price on growlers | | mar (36), Dallas, Texas | | October 25, 2009 Very nice atmosphere and great food. Good selection of tx beer on tap. growlers if you want them of their own beer. | Shelmire (3), , does not count - explanation | | April 26, 2009 Tx beers are here! They have great BBQ and I always drink their home brew. They stay on top of the seasons with an appropriate set of beers brewed in house, and they always have a hop tap for when you don’t care what the weather is like. Huge patio, and I saw a great music set during SXSW. | jkwalking05 (4), Arlington, Texas does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2009 [ Updated April 1, 2009 ] You have to park a little ways away, but that"s OK if your not too lazy. If you are the is a small shuttle that will drive you over to the brewpub which is a block away. The service was very good. Our waitress even got us a taste of the brewers special oak aged version of one of their beers. They always have 6 beers of different styles of their own brews on tap as well as 4-5 beers from other local breweries which I give them kudos for because not a lot of breweries in TX care enough about the brewing community to do this. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was also quite nice on an early Satuday afternoon. We did a tour of Austin and this place was my favorite followed closely by the draught house. | | Cavie (49), Fort Worth, Texas | | March 16, 2009 Located on the southside of the downtown area. Parking is waaaaay small, I ended up parking up the hill in the neighborhood. Inside is totally blue collar. Belly up to the bar and grab the taster set. They give you almost a half pint of taster on each of their beers. Also have a big selection of rare Austin brews. (512), Live Oak, Real Ale. Also have an OK bottle selection of locals as well. DIdn’t try the food but the french fries next to me smelled pretty damn good. Come in a T-shirt and jeans and feel at home. | | GeneralGao (220), Iowa City, Iowa | | March 9, 2009 BBQ joint south of the river with a great outdoor patio. They had six of their own beers on tap the night I visited plus several other local micros. Their house beers were a bit better than average. Great service. the BBQ was was good. I had the brisket and pulled pork. A bit too much buttermilk in the coleslaw. Nice place. I’ll go again the next time I’m in Austin. | | spaceycasey (10), , Texas | | January 10, 2009 Beautiful location, but parking can be a bit of a nightmare. I had to park at a remote lot and take a short golf cart trip, but on a nice (surprisingly warm) day it wasn’t a hassle at all. The patio is amazing and covered with beautiful trees providing shade. I had the Bitchin Camaro and the Agave Wit in addition to one of their guest beers. Beers by brewer Brian Peters were all excellent. The food was above average for BBQ, but it is tough to compete with BBQ in Texas. I did find the green beans delightful though. A little expensive too, but not a bad value at all. | | GodOfThunder (11), Orlando, Florida | | December 25, 2008 Nice little location in Austin serving up beers and barbeque. I didnt have any food, just a quick beer sampler. Value is pretty good, especially for the new growlers at 15 dollars. The beers were better than expected. A few normal styles that were above average and a very good seasonal. I really enjoyed Uncle Billys. | wu1000k (2), Texas does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2008 Tends to have 5-7 regular house beers on tap (mostly decent) + 1-2 house specialty brews (tends to be the best of their house-brewed selction) plus a few local guest brews. Food is decent but definitely not the best BBQ in town. Service can be on-and-off... sometimes okay, sometimes a bit spotty, sometimes outright annoying. The main factors that keep me coming back are (1) quality of house specialty and guest brews and (2) convenient location just south of downtown Austin. | | KAggie97 (153), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring , Texas | | October 25, 2008 Not a bad place for some craft beer and bbq. The bbq is pretty good, and the beers ain’t too shabby either. The bartenders/waiters/waitresses were all very helpful. There’s a free shuttle service that will take you from a parking lot down the road to the place. |
