A great place to go for a wide variety of beers. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices seemed reasonable from my experience. As others have said, there aren’t that many coolers of beer, but they have quite a few shelves of beer. Somewhat hard to find and see, and the MGM Liquors just down the road seems to siphon off a lot of potential business.

Excellent selection. I stick mainly to the regional brews from which there are plenty to choose. Staff is very friendly and willing to assist, though never overbearing which I really appreciate. Owner obviously prides himself on selection - I was looking to try Bells’ Winter White Ale but they didn’t have it - asked owner and after thinking a second he said No, I don’t carry it, but try back on Monday (it was Wed). Came back Monday and it was sitting on the shelf. Only drawback is that there aren’t many coolers.

Great selection. I always spend more then I planned when shopping there because of that fact. Service is above average.

Quite an excellent selection. I was very impressed. Found some Cantillon and some Fantomes that Blue Max and the Cellars didnt have. By far the best selection in the west metro. Staff was so-so, but willing to help.p Re-rate 10/8/2007 Still a solid selection, but a lot of the beer has been sitting for a long time. Granted, I found some v. 2000 3 Fontinen and some 1999 Gales Old Ale, but under the conditions, I am a little wary. Yeah... this place is a great spot for beer in the West Metro. Top 5 in the cities for overall selection for sure.

This place had a good selection, but somehow I was looking for more. The depth of their range wasn’t the best and a lot of things weren’t available in singles. Service was nonexistent. Prices were fair.

This place hasn’t been rated in a while, so I decided to take the dog for a ride and get some beer. They have a very large selection, more than any store other than Blue Max that I’ve been to. Many European beers, including the Rocheforts. I knew what I was looking for, so I didn’t interact with the staff much, but they seemed friendly. They had some ratebeer tags, nice touch. Doesn’t have the number of coolers that Blue Max has, so you’ll have to wait a little while to sample your purchases. Best option for those in the western suburbs.

A great place to go for selection. Carries many beers you can’t find anywhere else other than Blue Max. Jason, the new beer manager, is usually helpful with questions and listens to comments and suggestions. He will sometimes let you break up 6 packs if the beer is not seasonal or hard to get. A little pricey, but still one of the best bets in the Twin Cities area.

Stopped in after seeing the high marks here on ratebeer. Blown away by the selection of beers - ended up with enough to last me for a few months. The people working were extremely helpful, knowledgeable and definitely gave me a reason to go back next time I visit Minneapolis. A must visit for anyone in the Twin Cities area.

had my first visit today as i have quickly outgrown the selection at mgm.
didn’t talk to the staff because i was so engulfed with the beer selection. am i in heaven?
grabbed a few beers which had high ratings on them and/or beers which people on here enjoy. will be fun to break these beauties out periodically.
update: name has/is changing to us liquor and wine with new owners. prices still seem high and 4 6-packs must be bought to get 10% off. i’m keeping my fingers crossed for a good beer selection at new ’being constructed’ liquor store on 101/7.
further update: 2nd time in a row they have given me a discount coupon and refused to take it. this time i walked out without buying anything and will never return again. bad service and prices outweigh selection.
