| rosenbergh (37), Helsinki, Finland | | October 25, 2009 Typical ’Kalaravintolat’ pub. Rather small and limited selection. It’s OK but I prefer Hilpeä Hauki. The staff was helpful when I visited. | | FatPhil (121), Espoo, Finland | | September 22, 2008 You’re supposed to go to a pub to relax and enjoy yourself. I came out of here with steam coming out of my ears and fuck all beer in my belly. With an average turnover of about one customer served every 10 minutes, and about half of the things I asked for - things that they have only had for a few days as part of a special festival of only about 15 beers - requiring a 5 minute search with negative results, I can’t believe this place remains in business. OK, it was one particular staff member who was the worst of the nightmare (she’s spoilt our evenings in Pikkulintu too), but the staff are a feature of the pub, so the pub gets punished for punishing me. One 20 minute walk later, we were in another fish pub with 20 times the customers, 10 times the queue length, but beers in our bellies almost immediately (Lohi). Draught Westvleteren 12 at €1/pint probably wouldn’t drag me back here. Yes, that wasn’t a review, it was a rant. | | raymondwave (26), , Finland | | January 6, 2008 Pretty enjoyable atmosphere (now when there’s no smoking anymore), no (or low) music, table games available for playing. Good selection both tap and bottle. Service could be better. I’ve had beer gone bad here twice and on both occasions it wasn’t really recognized. Still they do serve/pour beer correctly as in all fish restaurants and leave bottle to be examined. | | sayravai (99), Helsinki, Finland | | August 3, 2005 A mid-size beerpub on a busy street, with one of the smallest patios in Finland :) A typical "Kalaravintolat" selection - i.e. a quite good one. Only been here a few times. |
