November 2, 2009 I visited the Brauhaus in the winter of 2007, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. The beer was some of the best I’ve ever had. The food pairings were excellent as well. The Vetter 33 wasn’t my favorite, but the house brew was delicious. I really liked the "to-go" beer values at 5 euros for a liter. Definitely a place to visit when in Heidelberg. |

October 19, 2009 I really enjoyed this place mostly due to the Vetter 33. What a nice big beer to drink during the cold months! The food our party had was awesome. My Grillehaxe was a bit fattier than others I’ve had in Germany but still good with the beer sauce. We sampled 3 beers and a shot of their bock beer schnapps which was really different and good even though I’m not a schnapps fan. Definately will go back again and probably will everytime I visit Heidelberg. |

August 30, 2009 [ Updated October 10, 2009 ] i arrived in Germany in early May, and was just in time to sample Vetter’s Maibock - not my FIRST beer in Germany, but it was quickly my favorite... until they sold out and the season passed us by. Nice ambiance, with hops hanging from the chandeliers and the copper kettle sitting against the wall - they brew in the AMs before they open for lunch, so you won’t get to see them in action lest you come REALLY early and peek in the window. Located just up the street from the famous "walking bridge" in downtown Heidelberg, I’ve found it to be a GREAT place to wait for my spouse as she ponders the tourist shopping area known as the Hauptstrasse. Food is good too, but come for the beer!! The only downside is the selection; usually 2 on tap, plus maybe a seasonal... |

April 14, 2009 [ Updated May 5, 2009 ] Nice central location, prices sadly reflect that though (paid 3,30 for 0,2 l of the 33 and 3,80 for 0,5 l of a decidedly mediocre Maibock). Service is friendly but a bit slow and the place itself seemed a little cramped. Only worthwhile for a taste of the 33. |

May 21, 2008 Dark pub with a slightly grungy feel to it. Also outdoor serving in the street, which we preferred. Decent service. Good beers, and Vetter 33 is of course a classic. Didn’t try the food, but it didn’t look very appetizing. A must visit in Heidelberg (and it’s in any case pretty hard to miss). |

June 17, 2007 Very nice and central location; the place is dark and a bit claustophobic; a lot of wood and copper of course. They have 4 beers available, which is not bad, also considering that their Pils was the best Pils I had during those couple of days in June 2007 in Walldorf. |

March 24, 2007 Visited March 2007. Nice location in the heart of Heidelberg. Has a comfortable lived in, old fashioned look. Large wooden tables. Two large hop bushels hang from the ceiling. Copper kettles sit near the bar. Great beer, good service decent food. |

August 13, 2006 May 3, 2006. Schnitzeltag. Do I have to say anything else? Heidelberg on our journey was an afterthought but a great time nonetheless. We saw the Schloss and visited Vetters. We had one of sample of each beer and one huge helping of the Maibock. Our waitress was friendly and spoke English better than we spoke German. Large wooden communal tables were the norm but we were able to find ourselves a smaller setting. The food was good and hearty and I found that an egg on top of my schnitzel is not necessarily a bad thing. |

October 24, 2005 Nice place to hang out - great enterior with fun old paintings on the wall. Get’s very crowded and loud with all the Japanese and American tourists. Selection of their own beers - which is good. The food is as mentioned before very German but good. I can recommend the Sausage plater for more than one persons - we split that with four persons and it was plenty and great. Service is ok - mostly students who are annoyed by all the tourists there (though they get shitloads of tip - so I was told by my there once working friend Martina) |

August 14, 2005 Last visit in November 2000: Heidelberg is one of the coolest towns in Europe and this is one of the attractions. I went to high school here but didn’t have my beer awakening until several years later. Still had the opportunity to drink a few here and it was quite good. |
