Had a standard sampler of 6 beers, then they piled on 4 more all for something like 8 dollars. Beer was standard with a few above the norm. Had a pretty good appetizer but everything seemed relatively average. Typical american brewpub.

The beers were mediocre, except the maibock and the raspberry. Service was friendly and the food was good, they have a very large menu and reasonable prices. As far as the quality of the beer this place is ok, but it is good enough for a reasonably priced meal. Try the beer sampler.

Located on Water Street in the downtown area, this place is a lot of fun. They have quite a few beers to sample, many which are a little lighter in body, but very tastey. They have a nice outdoor seating area where you can enjoy the beer. The waitstaff was very helpful and pleasent. Check this place out.

It’s in a nice building with the expected old world beer stuff. The waitress did her job. Selection was mostly limited to German type stuff with a bock being the most interesting option. Food was sorta mediocre. I don’t know that I’d bother going back.

I was in Milwaukee for a business trip and all my fellow coworkers wanted to go to Water Street to find a bar. They found some crappy college/singles bar with $2.00 beer specials and I refused to go in, so I waled down the street to find something else. And I did! The place was very nice and not over packed at all on a Friday night. The beer selection was very different, not your everyday beer, which was a nice change. I had a few and the prices were nice for a draft craft beer. I was also very impressed what kind of brewing knowledge the staff had. Normally you don’t find too many cute girls serving on a Friday night that no much more than how to open a beer. Made my visit a lot better. I didn’t eat any food so I can’t vouch for that but I can say that the beers were ok at the worst. Nothing I tried was bad. I would definitely go back if stuck on Water Street with all those jerks from work again.

Decent looking place with beer tanks greeting you as you walk in the door. Collections of old beer cans and bottle spread throughout the restaurant, neat stuff to look at. Perhaps it might have been better if I were able to sample some of those as their beer was below average and almost all of them felt over carbonated to me. Staff was friendly and I was able to get a nine sampler for $8, so the value was okay. I’ve eaten here in the past, but it was a long time ago but I do remember liking the food.

Fairly nice brew pub, awesome can collection. They only serve there own beer, and their beer is ok. Decent service, quite a few hot chicks that work there.

I’ve been to both the downtown and Delafield locations more than once. This one has a very good, convenient location for sports and theatre in Milwaukee, which helps bring in business. The layout is quite nice, and I like the decor full of breweriana, as previously mentioned. The food is on the good end of the spectrum, and much better than the beer. The beers are (for the most part) below average, but drinkable. Service was solid.

Water Street Brewery seems to understand the communal spirit of craft brewing with framed T-Shirts from other brewpubs around the country as decorations for the walls (which is the reason I gave ambiance a 4), but they fall a little short in terms of brewing prowess. Their beers aren’t bad, but they just aren’t anything to write home about. I’m sure the popularity of Water Street pushes this establishment into catering to the mainstream a bit, which isn’t the worst thing in the world, it’s just not what I’m looking for in a brewpub. For example, the last time I was there, they had just tapped an imperial stout, which I ordered, but there was so little flavor, I can’t imagine why they would have labeled it an imperial stout. And, on a side note, when I ordered it, the waitress said, Oh, I haven’t tried that yet, probably tastes like Guiness, hope you like that. (now, I know she was just a waitress and that it’s hard to find waitresses with a high degree of beer knowledge, but it did push my service rating down, despite relatively timely serving).

This micro brew offers 10 beers brewed on site and they are all pretty good. The building is located in the "party bar" part of town and on the Saturday night we were there the area was buzzing with inebriated college agers. The building itself is quite old but the interior was newly redone. I always like the look of old historic buildings that look more of the area. This one was pretty modern looking. The food was just ok and our waitress got about half of the orders wrong. Some food was delivered that was clearly well overdone. But I was there for the beer and it was enjoyable. There are hundreds of beer cans on the wall in a nice case. An impressive tap handle collection is also on display.
