acrdz | My new favorite beer store in western Maryland. Great selection: 2005 and 2006 Interlude, Fantome Hiver, Noel and others, Pannepot (Danish version), Drie Fonteinen Oude Gueuze and Schaerbeekse Kriek. They don’t allow breaking of six-packs, but most good stuff is put out as singles, bombers and 750s. Smaller selection than Ye Old Spirit Shop, but overall the quality of the bottles is higher.

| pythonmets | The previous review claims that they allow breaking up six packs, but the last time I was in this store I remember seeing a sign that read "DO NOT BREAK UP SIX PACKS!" They had their single bottles on shelves against the wall, and six packs and cases in a small area in front of the coolers. Anyway, they have a slightly better selection then the other good beer store in the area. However the service, to me, is non existant, usually some guy sitting at the register waiting to ring me out. In all my visits I don’t think anyone has approached me or engaged me in any way. No matter. They have a nice selection of spirits as well, premium rums, bourbons, and single malt scotch. Prices are decent as well.

vyvvy | Nice wine shop that has beer in the back. They allow breaking up of six packs. Good selection that fairly well laid out, but not as much of a selection as Ye Olde Spirit Shop. The workers answered any questions, but were not the friendliest - I think I’m spoiled by all of the beer geek employees that love to chat back in St. Louis. A nice shop overall. I suggest going to both Westridge and Ye Old Spirit Shop if you are in Frederick. They are not that far from each other, prices are similar & each had things the other didn’t.

Derek881 | One of the better selections of beers in Frederick, and some good deals that allow you to pick and choose. Decent, but not great selection of liquors, and pretty solid wine display. Service can be good; it depends on who is working. Overall, one of the best stores Frederick has to offer, and they seem to keep a pretty good rotation of beers.

CaptainCougar | A very nice store with a big selection of harder to find beers and a lot of single bottles. Picked up a Pannepot, Green Flash Barleywine and Imperial IPA, Thirsty Dog Siberian Night, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout. They have most all of the Victory and Allagash stuff along with Flying Fish, Dogfish Head, etc. Worth checking out if you’re in the area.

hopscotch | Excellent selection of craft and micro beers. Brian is very knowlegeable and helpful regarding the beer selection. He’s in the store during evening hours. No one else on staff knows squat about beer. Lots of wine, tons of sakes and single malt scotch. They now sell all their beers individually if that’s the way you want it. Used to only sell sixers or four packs.
