2 reviews for Winslow’s Tavern
| zizzybalubba (34), Elizabeth City, North Carolina | | November 6, 2009 This is a really nice place and seems very out of character for downtown Greenville. You can obtain some of the basic macro lagers that the other places in Greenville offer but this really offers a lot more. I did not count the taps but 46 seems reasonable. There certainly is something to please just about every beer palate. There is plenty of indoor as well as some outdoor seating. I did not try the food. The bartenders knew some things about the beers but were not extremely helpful (although that is from my point-of-view as someone that knows more about beer than most). The beer menu was laminated which will hold up better than a printout but doesn’t allow for the most up-to-date list. Also, some of the beers were not properly categorized. My biggest complaint was the price. My tab, including tax, was almost $15 for the Mother Earth IPA and a Dogfish 90 Minute. That seems steep. Still, Greenville really needs a place like this and I hope it does well. I know I will go back the next time I visit. | | arventresca (24), Greenville, North Carolina | | October 15, 2009 An old Ace Hardware building renovated into a tavern, deli, market. 46 beers on tap as well as 87 bottles. Also a wine tasting area. Very nice on the inside. This is the only palce in the area like this. Didn’t try the food so I don’t know what it is like. The draft beers have a nice selection. |
