RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
Possible the best source in Europe for American microbrews.
Up to three real ales at any one time, rotating selection from British and Swedish microbreweries. Good selection of single malts. 150m from Subway station (T) Slussen.

Svesse | Nice and friendly pub with an excellent beer selection. Three cask handpumps and an ever changing selection of draught beers from around the world. A very good selection of bottled beers, with emphasis on American micro brewers. Efficient and friendly service with very skilled bar staff. Food is excellent. Nice and cozy place, can get seriously crowded Friday and Saturday evenings.

| TEJA | One of Stockholms best beer places. The best when it comes to American ales and a very good real ale pint from casks. Now also a good selection of Swedich micros.
I only eat their Janzons temptetion when I’m there but no one I’ve heard ever complained aboute the food.

Crosling | Visited Oliver Twist a couple times on my Stockholm expedition. They have a nice range of bottled Swedish beers and bottled American craft brews. On tap, there were some nice selections including some tasty Swedish ESB’s along with some American beers. They also had some authentic cask offerings both from Sweden and the U.K. I was treated really well by the staff and found the place to be well run. While I did not have any food, I saw some dishes that looked tasty and tempting. This wasn’t my favorite bar, probably because I’m an American and have access to so many of their beers, but I still found it to be a really impressive establishment.

| baggio | The best place in Sweden to get hold of beer from american microbreweries. Bartenders know their stuff and are generally very knowledgeable about beer. Food is a little better than your average pubfood but not much. Very crowded on weekends and if you intend to eat it’s almost a must to book ahead. Beers can be very pricey aswell.

Jonte | World class place in Stockholm. Good selection of real ales, american and swedish micros. The food was good. The place was busy on a saturday evening, but the service was still ok.

Theis | Classis bar - Beers, Rock’n’Roll and drunk swedes !! Nice big selection of american beers, a lot of Left Hand brews. The food is plain but ok - burgers and steak.... Nice pleasant service. Very noisy in the weekends.

jarspag | Met Jorgen on a visit here...what a nice guy. He cracked a couple beers for us to try (Narke ?, Beer Geek, among others). Excellent selection - they even had Lost Abbey beers in the fridge. Highly recommended. I enjoyed this bar the most of all the ones in Stockholm b/c of the friendly staff. I went around lunch on a weekday when it wasn’t so busy - might be worse at night.

larsga | Dark, wood-panelled local pub which strangely seems to mostly have people above 40. Big bar section, outdoor seating, and a smaller dining area.
Beer selection is excellent, focusing mostly on imported beers, especially from the US. The US selection might really be the best in Europe, but the UK, Belgian, and German ones are not bad, either. The selection of Swedish beer is rather disappointing, consisting mostly of stuff you can find elsewhere.
Service is knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive, even when there are lots of people. Food was good.

lgklotet | Love this place, everything from the beers to the free hotdogs ;-) Really nice ambience. Prices are a bit steep for some US micros, but who can blame them, what with Swedish import laws and everything :-(
I had (among other things) Arrogant Bastard at close to 20 euro..
Only real downside to this place is the lack of a sunny outdoor patio. Smoking is no longer allowed indoors by the way :-)

Rastacouere | An very nice pub, well decorated, long and rather narrow. Excellent focus on american beers must be a delight for locals. They still carry some interesting swedish micros for the tourist and the conditions are pretty beer geek friendly, soft sunday afternoon jazzy rock music, laid back and excellent service.
I need to push my score again a bit up after attending one of their little improvised festivals for the football game where Sweden faced Denmark. They just decided to have a superb lineup of around 20 Swedish beers versus 20 Danish beers. All top examples really and it was a great time. What an opportunity for me!
