| Maltajo (18), TARRYTOWN, New York | | September 9, 2009 Nice big place with friendly people and a great menu. I would not travel far to get there but if your staying in town it’s a good place to go. The only beer they have is Big River brand. Service was great. Go and enjoy! | | Fatumsch (15), | | July 22, 2009 Walking distance from most in town attractions. A good place to take the family. | | lithy (83), Knoxville, Tennessee | | June 30, 2009 Didn’t eat, but the mainly looked like standard chain restaurant fare. The service was solid, the feel was like Applebee’s, the beer was all mediocre but a great deal for the sampler. | | brianallen (10), Alabama | | January 8, 2009 I have always enjoyed this place. They started the Southern Brewery Festival, which a great event in downtown Chattanooga.
The beers are nice, but they are focused on making the Bud crowd happy. I enjoy the Iron Horse Stout especially.
The pizzas are good. I like the outside dinning as you face the street and you can watch the world go by while enjoying the beer. | | jzzbassman (16), New Albany, Mississippi | | July 15, 2008 Very nice patio seating that provided a good place to people watch. The BBQ Chicken pizza was outstanding, as was my wife’s southern chicken salad. Beers were well made if a bit boring, but service was good and overall a nice place. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | June 4, 2008 I am basing this rating based on Noogfest 4.0, not a standard dining experience. This building is far nicer than the Nashville location. The modern dining ambiance also has the bar and pool table area separate, which is a nice touch. They also have streetside dining which is great for people watching. The food ranges from pub fare (pizzas, nachos, etc) to more pricey entrees like steak. I went with the pizza which was good. If you like a tame session beer that compliments your food, then I think their beers do a respectable job of that. The private back room for Noogfest was a nice touch and the server worked hard all night. The only thing he screwed up on was not getting names or credit cards for food orders, thus we had some people that forgot to pay the tab (and we all chipped in to cover it) | | suddenlyissoon (13), Chattanooga, Tennessee | | May 2, 2008 I would rather go home than go to Big River. I rarely find anything good about their beers at all and unfortunately, it’s been the only brewery in town for quite a while. Unless you’re looking for the young professional crowd you’d be best to stop off somewhere else (that’s why it has earned the name Yuppie River). The food is decent enough but doesn’t redeem the ho-hum beers they offer. | | eaglefan538 (90), Wilmington, Delaware | | January 18, 2008 Um, well, what can I say? Meeting up with Shaggy/Clash (Matt) was about the highlight in this somewhat beer-deprived city. I guess this is about the best they’ve got going, so if you’re in Choo Choo city, make a stop. Just don’t expect good beer: pretty bland, sweet if anything, a little underattenuated too. The place was pretty dark restaurant and bar-side. | | Ughsmash (138), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | January 9, 2008 This is a very large brewpub/restaurant with an excellent downtown location. They have cool old timey decor, several pool tables, and it’s fairly family-friendly.. bit smoky at times, though. They usually have 6 or 7 beers that should be available, and they’re out of a couple of ’em.. decent stuff, but I haven’t had anything really good there. Service is hit or miss, and I really enjoy the food. This is a good hangout in Chattanooga. | DrPiva (2), Alabama does not count - explanation | | December 20, 2007 Cool ambiance but the service is spotty. Great beers which is the reason to go. Ironhorse is a great stout. Food is really good, just went to a Christmas party there. Salads actually rock. | View Page: 1 2 3 4
