| Butters (57), Temporarily in Nashville, Tennessee | | September 28, 2008 Stopped by on a night out with the wife. I’ve never been to Ireland, but I’d imagine this place must be what a REAL irish pub is like. Not a ’commercial’ example of what an irish pub is. Sparse walls, lots of religious iconography, small and cramped. I personally like the commercialized pub idea better. The staff was somewhat friendly, but rather slow. I guess for the area, this place had a decent selection of beers, but by no means was it impressive. The food looked great though I didn’t have anything other than a pint (20 ounces at this place!) of Guinness. The coolest thing about this place, the head of your beer has an imprint of a shamrock. Certainly wouldn’t go out of the way, but if you’re already in the area, it might be worth a stop. | | ATOmemphis (14), Franklin, Tennessee | | January 8, 2006 Fun place to go - selection is not huge, but the place is small, so it seems fitting. Food is great and the service is prompt and friendly. Drawbacks - its a pub...but you can’t smoke. Its a pub, where’s the constantly soccer tv channel? That aside, lots of fun, and its in a scenic location. Close to a movie theatre and Mellow Mushroom, and close to perfect. | Likeburning (9), Franklin, Tennessee does not count | | January 7, 2006 This is my favorite place to go that is near home. They have excellent pub style food and an atmosphere to match. One of the few places that know how to properly pour a pint of Guinness. Can get crowded at times, but it’s rarely very hard to get a table. |
