I felt the need to add this because even though it is not a very good beer store, it certainly has the best quality beers in the county. Do not make a special trip, but if you are staying in Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg and you need beer over 6%, this is your only option. There is one other liquor store in the county that sells high alcohol beer, but they never, ever rotate their selection and it’s all sitting on a shelf in direct sunlight. Gatlinburg Package Store, however, keeps all the beer in a cooler on the far left as you enter. Actually, the most positive thing I can say about this place is that the beer has always been fresh upon my purchase. Just a small amount is kept on hand so rotation is pretty decent. You can count on a couple of Stone brews being here along with the Corsendonk beers. The Rogue XS series, Skullsplitter, and the Delirium stuff makes an appearance every now and then. I find myself here whenever I’m not in the mood to drink yet another Highland beer from the grocery store. Do not ask for help in any way regarding beer, you will get virtually none. Prices, like most places in town, are a little higher but not ridiculous. But, like I said, this is your only option within 30-35 miles.
