7 reviews for Stones River Total Beverages
| illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | October 5, 2009 Best place to get >6.2% in the Boro. Not much ambiance, just your typical mid size liquor store. The beer guy Andy is always friendly and will even hold back beers for you to pick up. They pretty much get the same beers as Frugal and Midtown in Nashville. Expect to find Belgian and European strongs, as well as domestics from Jolly Pumpkin, Victory, Terrapin, DFH, Schlafly, North Coast, Stone, etc. If you are in the area, it’s worth a stop and not very far off I-24. | MediaProphet (1), Murfreesboro, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | October 5, 2009 This is the best place I have ever been as far as beer is concerned. they have a great selection of high gravity beers and regular beers. The wine manager Andy is by far the most knowledgeable person I have talked to about beer. Very friendly staff, laid back atmosphere. I saw the comments about higher prices, but for what you get, I think it’s worth it. I actually drive past another liquor store to get to Stones River. | Rewriteboy (1), Alabama does not count - explanation | | April 7, 2009 Excellent selection, a little pricey | | SpringsLicker (89), Tennessee | | November 18, 2008 As good as any store in Tennessee, and I was surprised to find a few that Terrapins that weren’t in Atlanta just a few days before! | rsteagall (9), does not count - explanation | | July 16, 2007 Decent selection, but prices are a little high. You can actually save money by buying "to-go" from Liquid Smoke if you are doing the 1 bottle thing. Most people don’t know you can buy like that from Liquid Smoke. :P | pstorvik (3), Murfreesboro, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | January 24, 2006 [ Updated April 25, 2007 ] The selection here is about what one would expect for our beer starved area (due to stupid Bible belt regulations...). The prices are a bit high but they don’t have a lot of competition here in the ’Boro. They have a good selction though, not really any less than the Nashville stores. The liquor store side with the >6% beers has a lot to learn about beer as they have their very limited selection on a shelf by the window... in the sunlight. Yes that UV rich light looks nice pouring through the bottles but what does it do to beer? Skunked. It’s bad enough that Samuel Smith insists on packaging in clear bottles but then to have their imperial porter shelved in sunlight? Please shield the beer! Otherwise the liquor side has he t single malt selection in the ’Boro and a good wine selection. | | BeerHawk (39), Huntsville, Alabama | | September 19, 2005 [ Updated October 19, 2008 ] This place is excellent if you are traveling on I-24 between Nashville and Chattanooga. Less than 0.4 miles from exit 78B to the store. Usual Tennessee store, split with beer and liquor because of the 6% law. The selection on the over 6% side has grown huge over the last few years thank to Andy Hite. He expects it to grow even more. The under 6% side is not a huge space but this guy has it packed in here. Huge selection, chilled or un-chilled, sixers ,single, or bombers on both sides. They do have a mix your own sixer section. The selection on both side is comparable to or better than any of the major stores in Nashville. Good cigar selection in a closet sized walk-in humidor. Watch the store web site for new arrivals and store sponsored tastings. The best part is that this place is only about 2 miles from my house and on my way home from work! |
