Upscale brewpub in Arlington. Bar area is big and always busy. Very impressive selection of liquors behind the bar, more visual than anything. Tried most of their beers they had to offer. Bartender was a guy I went to high school with, and he knew what qualities to look for in each style. He was always around when we needed him but didn’t chat much more beyond that. I did appreciate his honesty when he told us the stout and porter taps were funky - he said something was off about it and didn’t want us to try it when it was less than what it could be. Had a few bottled import and domestics available. Food is good yet expensive. Also have buzztime trivia available at this location.

This was my second visit to Humpy’s. My last one was 11-04. They had the same brews on tap as last time light, hefe, golden an ipa that could use some more hops and a pretty good porter. I went for the porter and a delicious rack of ribs. After flying in from Sacramento it sure hit the spot.

Went on a Tuesday night for dinner before a Rangers game. The place looked like a very nice sports bar, with several TVs all around the place. They had a window on the side where you could see the brewing tanks. The beers were okay. Nothing outstanding, yet all were drinkable. Food was good, as I had the fish tacos. All in all, a nice place to go to when going to a Rangers game, but nothing to search out for.

Went here on two different nights while in town on business only because I had limited transportation and it was right across the street from my hotel. Large bar area that was not very busy either evening I was there. 5 taps running including the seasonals. The beer was ok but nothing to run back for. The waitress knew some about their beers but was not overly confidant and keep going to ask the barkeep for answers. The food was decent.

Visited November 2003: Big Horns is a Big Business, not much different than a Bennigans or Chilis, with some halfway passable "house-brewed" beers to offer. Better than going to McDonalds, but don’t know if the surroundings are better than any other big chain eatery.

Although I really hated my overall experience, I still really liked this place. I went on a sat night (big mistake) and only had a chance to try 2 diff beers, their hefe-wiezen and the IPA both really decent... but we only saw our waiter about 3 times the entire 1 - 2 hours we were there... worst service ever. They also have some beer club you can join and get all their beers cheaper. I guess it would be worth the price if you planned on buying a lot of their beer.. but you still have to pay a membership fee and pay for growler. I thought their corny names and ugly logos were really cool lol, I also thought it was cool to see the micro brewery as I walked in. Maybe if they hired more staff of the busy weekends, I could give them a better rating... but damn.. I had to tip the guy like 1 buck, and I typically never do that.

You can buy a growler of Stout for $5. Keep the bottle and refill it. If you don’t know the names, but a sample of all for $8.

Lord forgive me for being a beer geek and so jaded that I find little redeeming qualities in this place. Also, let it be noted that a Californian added this and not a Texan. Lame beers, bad/corny/stupid names and ugly logos - what more could anyone want?
