miketd | Came here two or three times over the course of a weekened in May. Very comfortable, down to earth atmosphere. Good service and very good BBQ. All the beers I tried were solid. Really liked this place and hope to get back soon.

ansermadide | Only been there once, for a quick dinner, and had their pale ale I think... great place to eat, decent service, awesome deck patio. Meat! I’d like to go back and try more of their brews. I believe they even sell growlers to take home...

Bockyhorsey | House taps were average. There were several guest taps from Live Oak and Real Ale. From the other ratings, we were expecting a whole lot more from this place. Service was extremely slow. The wife’s favorite part of the meal were the pickles that came on the side - doesn’t say much for the food. Her ribs weren’t very good but my pulled pork was ok. Not a place we would ever go back to if we were in Austin.

slimchill | Wonderful house brews, but not much in the way of guest beers. Their menu is severely lacking in vegetarian/vegan options for Austin, but as a smokehouse I can hardly expect more. I have had nothing but horrible experiences with their servers on two separate occasions. Once we were served several incorrect items and had to track down someone to help us because our server disappeared for about 40 minutes. Another time I was repeatedly skipped over or brought things without being asked if I needed anything else. It’s nevertheless a must in Austin.

kidmartinek | All the house brews were good. The brisket was really good too. Some of the best in Austin, and I AM an barebeque conessuier. The coleslaw and sausage was ok. The atmosphere was cool and laid back. and the decor was nostalgic of home. The service was pretty good but the place was not that busy.

dukefan | Great beers, great atmosphere, great service. Nothing to complain about. Several guest taps of great stuff if you don’t like their stuff. Have found both their Rye PA and their Summit IPA to be excellent selections.

pint_size | Aside from the great house brews, Uncle Billy’s has a lot to offer. The ambiance is nice and very Barton Springs like - laid back and yet semi hip. Very clean and actually fairly spacious. Great ribs and great service. The house brews are great and they are always putting new ones on tap. Not the best selection of multiple brewery beers - but their house brews make up for it every time!

lb4lb | Nice ambiance right on Barton Springs road. Can sit outside on the patio under the trees, where live music can often be heard, or inside at the bar or at tables with a view of the brewing facilities. Food is good for the most part. Not the best bbq in town, but still good. The ribs are excellent, tender and smoky. Brisket is a bit boring and dry however. The beers however, are absolutely fantastic. Usually 5-7 house beers at a time are on. All really well made and flavorful, and nothing has that watered down cheap taste that I find at a lot of local micro breweries. They rotate 2-3 house beers fairly often and stray a bit farther than the standard styles, and also have a small but nice selection of other great local beers from Real Ale, Live Oak, St. Arnold, etc... on tap. Some bottled beer as well. Probably can find somewhere between 15-20 total different beers there at any one time. I’ve never been disappointed with a house beer, and love coming to this place. A must try when in Austin!

mmm///beer | Dragged my wife with me to try it out, and to get more rankings. The place was clean however, it suffers from an identity crisis. Is it a brewpub, a brewhouse, or a texas style theme resturant? Server was ON POINT, answered all questions quickly, came by every 10 minutes, gave me a free sample huge props to that kid. Food- something to be desired- I love smokehouses, but my wife, a native Texan, said the food was horrible, claiming she knew what real BBQ was. Beer- 6 in house, others on tap, 3 left something to be desired, put the smoked porter was double dang good!!! Coming back, by myself w/ growler, just to get the porter. And I’m not a big porter fan...
