| ericandersnavy (14), denton, Texas | | June 19, 2008 [ Updated September 2, 2008 ] This is my place of choice in denton. They have a couple of stores also, one that holds wine tastings. I am trying to include beer tastings as well. The BBQ is ok along with the price. Selection is the best in Denton hands down. Service is always friendly and sometimes the owner is there who doesnt mind chatting at all. | | Swalden_28 (20), McKinney, Texas | | April 23, 2008 [ Updated June 30, 2008 ] I like this place. They have BBQ available and a decient beer selection. The people are very nice and they even have shiner on tap. | wshores (1), Saltillo, Texas does not count | | September 22, 2007 Somewhat of a hole in the wall type place, seems to be some attempts at organization. The best beer selection I have ever seen. Quit laughing you should be feeling sorry for me. In the hometown if it aint at Chilies you dont get it. Staff very friendly, but admitted that he was knowlegable about the products when my girlfriend asked about a bottle of arbor mist wine. When im in Denton i will stop in. | | KAggie97 (122), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring , Texas | | March 17, 2007 First off: They let you break 6-packs. They charge $2.75 per if you do, but it beats paying full throttle for something that sucks. Anyway, selection isn’t mindblowing, but they did have some stuff not available in Houston yet. And did I mention they let you break 6-packs? I didn’t have the food (hence the N/A), but it sure looked good. And they have a German plate that looks intriguing. Low marks for service only because the help didn’t know squat about beer; otherwise, they were very nice. Sometimes nice is enough, however. | | fiulijn (180), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy | | December 28, 2006 This is a nice place, and just 100m behind the apartment where I stay for 3 weeks: they have a decent selection (DFH, Rogue, Full Sail, North Coast, Stone...) with someclassic European (Chimay, Westmalle, St. Sebastiaan, Spaten and some English), they also have a nice selection of wines; they have some cheese, ham, spicy and BBQ sauces. On the side they have a restaurant (it looks simple) where all the beers are available. And for an extra they allowed me to break the 6P! Definitively the best place in Denton for beers, and one of the few in the Dallas area to offer a good selection at the restaurant. | thesunjay (1), Denton, Texas does not count | | April 28, 2006 Probably the best selection of beer in Denton. Excellent service with the option of even ordering beer not readily available. | jrt (3), does not count | | November 3, 2005 Unreal selection for a small Texas town.
Here one can get a real variety of great beer. I bought my first Saison Dupont here!
I believe they also have Caracole and St Bernardus among many other belgians available. The German food rocks!!
You probably wont do better in the D/FW area...Denton is lucky to have this AND midway mart. | foduck (8), Denton, Texas does not count | | April 17, 2004 Deli and BBQ, specializes in import beers and German food. Beer selection is probably the best in Denton. Lots of Belgians, a few micros. A lot of German imports I haven’t seen in other places. A little pricey sometimes. Staff helpful but not very knowledgeable. Probably the best place to shop for beer in Denton. |
