| ericandersnavy (14), denton, Texas | | August 5, 2008 this place has a very good selection. my brother swalden_28 introduced me to it. the people that work there are very knowledgeable. place is well lit and clean. i wish i lived closer. | | ilovedarkbeer (25), Dallas, Texas | | May 4, 2008 Small store with a few different things than I have seen elsewhere in the area. Nice girl working the counter not sure if she was beer knowledgeable seeing as I did not have any questions. Prices were very fair and I picked up a decent amount of stuff. I would go back. | | Swalden_28 (20), McKinney, Texas | | April 23, 2008 I love this place.....Kevin and Tom who are there currently are great!. The store is clean and well kept and they are constantly improving given the amount of room they have to work with. Kevin (Store manager) pretty much knows about every beer & wine in the store....I go here frequently...I get treated very well here..... | | BMan1113VR (65), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California | | January 26, 2008 [ Updated April 8, 2008 ] The guy working there new his stuff pretty well. Store is clean and has a big selection (especially for Texas). Came up looking for DFH Fort and 120 IPA. Turns out you have to go to a liquor store to by the 120 here in Texas, but I got my Fort as well as some Mephistopheles and Sisyphus. Great place, but too far of a drive from where I am. Went in there again recently. Picked up both the fall and spring DFH Seasonals, two Hawaiian beers, two tranquairs and some Meantime stuff. Talked with the guy at the counter for a while, he knows his stuff quite well. | dyetube (4), Dallas, Texas does not count | | February 6, 2007 [ Updated December 22, 2007 ] I visited this place for the first time today. I gotta say I was impressed with the customer service here! They were very nice, very knowledgeable and had a fine selection of beers! The had the sam adams long shot’s, north coast cru dor, and a bigger selection of lienenkugels (sp?) than anyone else I have seen this week. Most of what they had beer wise can be found at most of the good locations around the area, but the fact that there is nothing really that close to them makes this a diamond in the rough. Especially considering how nice they were to me and how much they knew about beer... The man who helped me out has only been here a year from Great Britain ( living just down the road for the sam smiths brewery). he moved here because his wife is American. They are working to get the beers we want here like a lot of the other stores which is great that so many stores are doing this because it helps us in better in getting the wonderful brews that we haven’t been able to get in the past! The prices here are on par with most of the other finer stores out there and they are easily on par if not better than mr g’s and about the same as s&k. I will be visiting these guy’s again!**********update********* They are now carrying a GREAT selection of beers. They really do a great job of looking for the hard to find beers. | | legion242 (76), Richardson, Texas | | August 7, 2006 [ Updated October 29, 2006 ] Really well thought out little store. Can’t come close to S&K or G’s (though lately, that might be questionable), but Stacy tries her damnedest. Ask her for something and she will bend over backwards to get it. UPDATE: Stacy does not own any more, but new onwers seem committed to good beer like she was. | | Nate (175), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | January 2, 2006 Decent beer selection and they have quite a bit of wine, too. Easy to miss the second set of coolers on the right if you’re in a hurry. The prices are a little higher than some other area stores, such as S&K and Central Market. Friendly service, though I didn’t ask any questions to gauge knowledge. | TheEvilTwin (2), Texas does not count | | September 19, 2005 This is a great beer and wine store. Stacy and her staff are always helpfull and I can always find what I’m looking for. I highly recommend this for all your beer needs.
| | Kevin (56), Colorado | | August 13, 2005 not a bad place to stop in mckinney. the best selection i have found in the this town. this is a combo beer and wine place. the people are friendly and seem to enjoy a good beer too. it is not a chain or corporate owned store so i try to give them my business before i go to any of the big boys even if some of their prices are a bit above some places in plano or dallas. i’d rather give an extra 50 cents to a local business sometimes. they never hassle me when i go there and leave me alone if i tell them i don’t need help and have been helpful on the occasions i did. |
