| ericandersnavy (14), denton, Texas | | September 24, 2008 went here for my brothers birthday. great german place. live german music, great food, and a great selection of brews. only been here once and looking forward to going back. service could be a little better, but as busy as this place was i can understand why the service was not great. | | Swalden_28 (20), McKinney, Texas | | April 23, 2008 I LOVE this place...German food, german beers, GREAT. They have over 50 german beers, some on tap, others bottled. I love having schnitzel and a smoked braut with a nice german brew. They have a card that you use to keep track of how many different beers you have had there, after 50, you get a small stein..... | | legion242 (76), Richardson, Texas | | August 7, 2006 They try to make it as Bavarian as they can. There is a corner with a big screen showing what looks like the German version of CNN. They have every German beer available in the area. Food is good, but overpriced. Ompahh music every night. | | peter (14), Philadelphia , Pennsylvania | | February 10, 2006 [ Updated June 30, 2006 ] Great little restraunt. There is another german restraunt down 15th street Jorges or something along those lines that is better food wise. Happy hour includes a food menu with 25cent- buck fifty items, great place for an early dinner. be sure to ask about beers that have just arrived as the waitstaff has never suggested anything new.

Just as some commentary: I went here with some family and friends (party of 6) and had the worst service I have ever had. The owner came over to our table at least 3 times, yet never aplogized. Our waitress constantly dropped the ball, and a waiter stepped up to the plate. He was the only one who aplogized, and did his best to make sure everything was in order. The peons make this place worth visiting. | | Walt (184), Chicago, Illinois | | July 19, 2005 I have been told by my exgirlfriend who worked there not to eat the food...but nice staff and beer selection...fun place... | | KAggie97 (122), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring , Texas | | July 18, 2005 Thanks to Kevin for taking me to this wonderland of Bavarian culture and cuisine. Food is WONDERFUL, and for any fan of German faire this is welcome news. Tap/bottle selection is strictly German with titles found elsewhere, but the selection is not the reason for going here. Go for the ambiance, the sassy bartender, and the food. Stay for the beer. The men’s bathrooms smell great- trust me. | | Lumpy (48), Carrollton, Texas | | March 21, 2005 Food is good but expensive. Beer selection: about 8 German beers on tap, and 40+ in bottles. Go during happy hour and have some $1.5 wursts with your beer. Pretzels and mustard served at the bar. EXCELLENT ambiance. Gets a 15 overall for the food. If this were just a bar, O/A would be a 8 or 9. | | Nuffield (69), Roseville, Minnesota | | February 3, 2005 [ Updated November 4, 2005 ] No question, this is a great place to eat. I personally find the food a little bit on the expensive side, but it is very tasty, with especially nice red cabbage in addition to saurkraut and sausage. The beer is...well...German. They have everything you can get in Texas (except perhaps the Westheimer) in either bottle or tap, but I tend not to buy these when I’m here because then my total bill is just too much: for dinner, expect to pay $11-15 for the entrees, and $5 for a beer. When most of those beers are available at the local stores, and when they aren’t really awesome beers anyway.... But, if you aren’t price sensitive, or you want to join the Stein Club, then go for it. The owner is very nice, sometimes walking around the tables, and the waitresses (in kindl dresses) are fun. My kids like the trains running along the ceiling. So my family keeps going back (often for the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu) and the new little store that they have opened is a fun collection of German things as well. Definitely worth trying if you’re spending some time in the area, but not actually for the beer but rather everything else that goes with having an "authentic" Germany-in-Texas biergarten! | | Kevin (56), Colorado | | May 20, 2004 the people are great here, both patrons and staff. very friendly and knowledgeable. great german beer selection, and only german beer selection. 50+ beers. has a stein club where if you try all of the beers available you get a stein that stays at bar to drink from and other perks. the food is great too. the schnitzel is fantastic. very friendly environment, a great place to relax and rate beer to your hearts content. |
