Your typical college dive bar that happens, in this case, to brew several of their own underwhelming beers. Skip it - go to American Flatbread.

Thank god the other raters warned about the beer they brew...Cool little bar and very noisy.Still a fun atmosphere.Service was OK.I had Sierra Nevada on tap and tried a few sips of the home beers out of my friend’s glass. How do they get away with selling that stuff! The highlight of the night was the sour red ale.It tasted like they had infused it with Sourpuss Shooters.YUCK! i had to go see for my self.Definitely try the guest beers they have.

This place is homey, and ugly, in an interesting way. Homer Simpson is present everywhere (figurines, posters, etc...). The place is dirty and smells of beer on the floor. Remembered a stench of cigarettes but a few years back. The beer is mediocre, lacklustre, unfermented.... enough said. Beer is cheap. They do carry guest taps like trout river, etc...I recommend those.

Was initially intimated by the ambiance, seemed like we were defiantly the only out of towners. However, the bartender was really friendly. At 3.50 a pint, price was pretty good. Really, the only thing i didn’t like was that there was only 3 or 4 beers on tap, had the old ale which i enjoyed. Amazingly, the bar was pretty full, and there was no bouncer at the front door or bartender behind the bar, then a guy came up to us to ID us and after a guy who was sitting down in front of the bar asked us if we needed a drink.

Pretty fun bar, with a bit of a rugged atmosphere, but not by any means an unwelcoming one. A fairly large selection of beers split pretty much evenly between their own beers and various guests, I went in a few times over a couple of days and the turn over of beers was quite impressive. Their own beers weren’t particularly good, on the whole, pretty watery and lacking in flavor. The Coffee Stout (made with a large dose of coffee beans) was particularly undrinkable. The Chocolate Thunder Porter was the only beer of theirs which I thought was good (and it was rather good). If it weren’t for the good turn-over of guest beers, this place probably wouldn’t be worth going to. The service is pretty good, although one girl worrking behind the bar asked for my ID every time I went to the bar, wasn’t sure if her memory was shot or if she was winding me up.

Very loud but good music system. Some guest taps, which is lacking at other Burlington taps. Very safe area.Beer is OK, single guys take note there were 80% women drinking beer here on a Tuesday, higher than the already noticeable Burlington average. Certainly influenced by Quebec, certainly lonely.

this bar is a lot of fun. Happy hour is when I have traditionally gone to watch the simpsons. Everyone goes there for the Simpsons which is turned on really loud. Gone is the homer hear that sat atop the bar for many years, he is missed. The beer is great too, the brewer is not one to brew the same thing the same way twice it seems so it’s always an adventure.

Visited on part of my Burlington vacation. Was there for happy hour on a weeknight. Agree with others regarding the ’freak’ regulars. One bartender working that I felt ignored us a bit, she obviously knew we were not locals. She almost seemed pissed I didn’t order a Duff (Saranac). Pretty shitty music too, unless you enjoy Maneater. Nonetheless, worth stopping by if you’re wandering the streets of Burlington.

Casual, local pub feel inside, with one pool table at the back of the room - not sure where they make the beer in this cramped space - perhaps the bathroom? - the place was a miss when I went in - only two house-brewed beers on tap, and about 5 or 6 others, the highlight of which was Magic Hat Beet Beer (woohoo?) - in their defense, their Vienna Lager was mighty good - the patrons and bartender were all really friendly, so I’m sure when the place is "on," it’s a really great place to get a beer - this visit, however, just didn’t do it for me.

Small brewpub, basically consists of a small taproom with a pool table and some tables and chairs. Interesting crowd on a saturday afternoon- Hippies, hardcore/punk/oi guys and some older townies. Crowd, when I was there was not very friendly- seemed like they had that "who is coming into my bar" attitude. Sampled 5 of their beers and they were not very good, perhaps I had bad luck. Would go back solely because it is only a couple of blocks from Flatbread and VT Pub and Brewery.
