| Fanwick_Mike (32), | | September 26, 2008 beer tour 09/23/08. dropped by just before closing on the 23rd, and tried several brews, such as their Munich type dark beer and an IIPA, which was excellent, hoppy but balanced, neither overly sweet or bitter. Hostess (and customers) were very well informed beer drinkers who noticed that we still had tour stickers on our shirts from a previous tour earlier in the day at Redhook. They mentioned places they would like to visit and we suggested several as well. A very nice place with good people. | | josarah (65), Hinesburg, Vermont | | February 27, 2008 This is a pretty standard commercial brewery, good tour, great gift shop, limited beer selection. I concur with other reviewers, this place is kinda nuts when there is a festival here. Worth a stop when your in the area. | | Vac (38), San Diego, California | | January 8, 2008 Not much for Ambiance in this place. Just a good size brewery with a typical tasting room. They did have a decent about of beers available when I visited, so that was nice. No tour was available when I visited, but they had an area where you could view the brewery with signs telling you about the process. | | jjpm74 (129), Stratford, CT 06614, Connecticut | | October 10, 2005 [ Updated August 24, 2007 ] I’ve returned to this location many times since the Oktoberfest fiasco and their service has been nothing short of great. Brewery tours are still available and you don’t have to try to listen to the tour guide over all the oompah music. A good place to stop on the way through Vermont. Their one weak point is their selection. They tend to only offer the most basic things for tasting and growler fills, though when they have a 100 barrel release on, they do fill growlers. It’s best to avoid this place when they have a festival, however as during festivals, they only offer 1 or 2 beers to drink and don’t fill growlers or offer tastings. | | Eyedrinkale (129), Beer Town, New York | | November 5, 2004 For a brewery that makes a lot of beer to have 5 beers available for tasting, that’s just not enough. Nice grounds and ambiance. The server was a very nice woman. Open for lunch but I didn’t eat there. They also have package product available but no 100 barrel series. |
