bigbobdog (3), does not count | | August 23, 2008 Truely enjoyed this place 3.50 for a beer is very good. Many places will charge much more than that. The bartender was able to give in depth advice even to the history of IPAs. How many places do that? A little warm in the bar but it was ok. Will definately be a bar to go back to. DIdnt try the food so cant rate that. | | dkachur (39), Charlottesville, Virginia | | July 2, 2008 [ Updated August 5, 2008 ] Ambience is cozy, but confused. Beer list is lengthy, but the barkeep (the only one working) was unsure about what they actually had. Everything they do have is overpriced. Absolutely no draft beers for some reason (even though they have about 8 taps). The beers we did get were very old and stale, not the kinds of styles you want to age. Glassware was inappropriate for pretty much any style. Service was at times pushy and at other times seemed like they didn’t want their conversation interrupted. I avoided the food because I have heard it’s atrocius. Skip this place. | | hershiser2 (21), Charlottesville, Virginia | | June 28, 2005 Court Square has a beer list of about 130. Doesn’t mean they have 130 beers in stock... in fact, it probably means they have maybe half of those. I’ve gone in several times, and not once have I been able to get everything I ordered. Service is so-so. For being a beer-bar, it’s a bit of a no-no for the waitress to tell me she thinks all beer tastes like crap. Food is nothing special... I’d suggest eating elsewhere and going there to see if they actually have a couple beers you’ve never tried. Unfortunately, they give you this little 6-oz mug to pour your beer into. Ugh. |
