molassesfan (9), Raleigh, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | July 15, 2007 Lots of cheese, very little beer. Only went once because there are better places nearby. | | OldRaspy (13), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | January 24, 2006 Nice little shop with lots of cheese. Beer selection was small (very Small). The owner was very knowledgable in beer and would take special requests. | | gputty (12), Virgina Beach, Virginia | | January 21, 2006 Small selection of really good beers and will special order. Could really use a larger selection, but the cheese selection was phenomenal. Picked up some creamy Gouda and a wedge of Chimay. | | Immy (88), Virginia Beach, Virginia | | January 21, 2006 Small, but excellent beer selection. Will also get requests - nailed down some Midas Touch for me! Small wine and gourmet food section. This is THE place for cheese! I got an excellent Cammenbert and my friend picked up some nice smoked gouda and some Chimay cheese. I make a monthly (at least) pilgrimage here, hitting Coastal Wine as well. | | TheBeerGod (97), Newport News, Virginia | | January 9, 2004 [ Updated January 24, 2008 ] George runs a pretty respectable shop. Small wine, cheese, beer, and sandwich based store. The beer selection is small but usually contains some powerhouses. Schneider, Weihenstephaner, Anchor, Ayinger, St. Peters, DFH, and other US micros make up the bulk of the selection. Good selection of Belgians at times as well. The sandwiches are VERY good and the special sauce they use only adds to it. That said the prices can be a little high on things but the service is usually very good. EXCELLENT cheese selection as well. Definitely worth going to when in town. |
