I realize my rating is substantially different from previous raters, which I think I’ll attribute to the fact that (coming from Wisconsin) I have a very different frame of reference. Plus, I have a natural affinity for dive bars (which, as mentioned previously, this definitely is). The tap and bottle lists aren’t extensive, but are reasonable and included a few beers that were new to me. The food was deliciously greasy... and cheap. I would love to have a place like this within walking distance of my apartment because I frequently crave a good burger and a good beer, but these two things aren’t often easy to find together (most places in Milwaukee that offer good, greasy burgers tend to be BMC joints). The service was actually good relative to most of the other places I went in Virginia, but that’s not really saying much and they did serve my Stout in a frosted mug, so I nicked them a bit on that. Other than that though, a great overall experience.

A dive in the severest sense of the word. People seem to either love or hate this place. The one time I went I was unimpressed. Borderline rude service, cheap, crappy food, small beer list, though what they have is usually decent (SN Celebration when I was there). There are plenty of better places to go, save you time.

I didn’t have a very good experience here, small place, not well lit inside, crammed with people, not much room to move around, server seemed very pre-occupied, was very rude & food service was incredibly slow, music was way too loud, beers were alright though, a decent selection of Old Dominion beers, the usual macro swill is on of course, food was overpriced for the amout you got, the clam chowder was good though, not a place I would head back to again, and probably wouldn’t recommend to anyone
