| bitbucket (46), Kirkland, Washington | | February 24, 2008 Quaint and rusty... er, rustic. Lots of beer memorabilia around. Nice little place, packed when we were there, so the service was on the slow side, but the staff was battling to keep up with a problem that one more body would solve. The pizza was pretty good, thin crust, but not New York style. (For starters it needs to be foldable, and you can’t fold a cracker.) | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | August 4, 2005 This place rules! Part ski lodge, part barn atmosphere, the pizza is the main draw, but you’d better like thin crust. There were a few beer highlights, such as the hefeweizen and the scotch ale. The servers were great, couldn’t have asked for better service, and the entire operation just had a really comfortable feel to it, even though it was packed. | | Indiana_Red (14), Boise, Idaho | | July 31, 2005 Mountain lodge type place. Lots of rustic character but the dusty cobwebs on the brewing equipment, plates that ern’t very clean and the flys you had to shoe away from your dinner put me off a bit. The NY style pizza was excellent , however and the the samples of the 6 on tap that they had were also very good. Service was casual but friendly. | | Crit (114), New Westminster, British Columbia | | March 29, 2005 [ Updated September 18, 2008 ] They speak a whole different language here unless you are a snowboarder. A great wide wooden bar is the focal point here. Always something new to try. | | JoeMcPhee (202), Jackson Heights, New York | | January 16, 2005 Packed with a weird mix of ski bums and families. Everyone seemed to be sucking down the pizza as fast as they could, so I guess it’s good. A nice selection of stuff from the tiny brewery. Six brews on tap at a time from a rotating series. The bartender seemed like quite the character as well. The beers are well-done. Even though this is a bit out of the way, it’s worth the trip. Next time, I’ll try to get there before dark when it should be a bit less packed. | | Oakes (323), Miami Beach, Florida | | January 16, 2005 [ Updated August 14, 2005 ] I really dig this place. If I lived in Abbotsford, I’d get a PACE sticker and never drink anywhere else I swear. The pizzas are greasy, cheesy and tasty. The beers are usually brewed to a high standard. I prefer the Hefe and the Stout myself. The IPA is made with different hops a lot of the time. The owners will get to know you pretty quickly - I’ve only been there three times, months apart, and they remember me and my previous visits. Very relaxed, unpretentious. Loaded with old breweriana. |
