25 reviews for Malt and Vine
HarvestrOfBeer (3), , Washington does not count - explanation | | November 29, 2009 Pretty darn good beer and wine shop, and they have several things on tap that are unusual (no Bud Light!).
Good selection, but not Epic. Maybe I’m spoiled by having Bottleworks, PCC, and WholeFoods with good beer buyers.
If you’re in the area stop in have have a pint while you shop. | jca4711 (1), Kirkland, Washington does not count - explanation | | November 20, 2009 Best selection I’ve seen, caters to every customer on special orders and requests. Great simple business plan, provide 900+ bottles and 12 taps - many special or hard to find, sometimes even one timers. Add that with being able to bring in your own food and having a relaxed, beer happy attitude, what more do you want! if it’s wine they have that too, and a cellar storage next door that you can rent your own space. | dwaggs2 (9), Lee’s Summit, Missouri does not count - explanation | | November 10, 2009 Great website. Easy order. Fast delivery. This is a great place to go to find those hard to get beers or something new and different | | 22415brewery (19), redmond, Washington | | November 2, 2009 Fantastic bottle shop that’s set up to serve on tap as well. The people are what makes this shop what it is, Doug, Lizzie, and Clint make this the most knowledgable and friendly shop around. Malt and Vine has an extensive bottle selection that is well organized and well stocked. There’s a completely separate section for Belgians that features an impressive array. I truly enjoy the dozen or so taps that they’re constantly rotating. There’s always something new and interestingly different being poured every day although they do tend to lean toward the BIG side. Also offered is a respectable selection of wines featuring several boutiquey, non-supermarket labels. Overall the shop is cozy, friendly, and even though they don’t serve food they encourage you to bring your own, sharing the same parking lot are a McDonald’s, Teriyaki, Gyros, and Chinese restaurants. Also a plus are Friday tastings where you can get a full set of a featured guest brewery’s tastings for a mere buck. | | bvc (18), Kenmore, Washington | | October 9, 2009 I have been visiting Malt and Vine since just after they opened and they keep changing a little bit at a time for the better. Located on the Eastside of Seattle in a stipmall type area in Redmond. Busy parking lot, but never an issue to find a place to park. Inside you are greeted by around 6 tables, coolers lining the left and right wall with one on the back wall, and 10-12 taps behind the register area. Bottle selection is solid and laid out mostly in a regional order with canned beer and ciders being grouped together. I think they break any multi-pack beers up for single purchase (which I love) and if you don’t see something just ask as they may have some more that just hasn’t been restocked yet. Draft selection is very solid and prices are fairly reasonable. They also fill growlers which is great. Toward the back they have a good selection of wine and some mead as well. Keep going out the back door and you will find plenty of patio seating when the weather is good. Super friendly and helpful staff. | | bhensonb (287), Woodland, California | | September 24, 2009 Great website. Easy order. Fast delivery. Unusual "local" beers. Highly recommended. | | theisti (114), Leawood, Kansas | | September 21, 2009 Visited on Thursday Sept 10, 2009. Shopped for a bit, then met up with DalzAle, bvc and kp in the rear beer garden. The store itself has one wall of coolers for beer and wine, and then a few displayers about for more beer and wine. The selection is really good, right up there with anywhere else in Seattle. The real highlight of this place though, is the beer they have on tap. You can fill growlers to go, or you can enjoy a glass while shipping, or hanging out the tables in the store or the large beer garden out back. to be fair, "beer garden" is a stretch, its really just a portion of the back parking lot reclaimed. Regardless, it was a great place to have a couple of pints on a great evening. If you don’t find anything on tap, they have a very minimal corking fee if you want to open any of their bottles. This concept is seriously great, and really well executed by the employees. Brandon, you were right, this place rocks. | | mages64 (10), | | September 11, 2009 What will blow you away is how friendly everyone is. Not snobby. Not pretentious. Not esoteric. Just great beer in one place. LOTS of fun beers on tap that you can sip while you shop. Lots of rare 750ml Belgians and some 2L-3L ones too. Price is a few dollars more than a supermarket but most of their inventory is impossible to find anywhere except for a few select beer shops. Even some of the best Japanese beers!!! Tastings everyone Friday at 5:30. Love this place! | | Nena (13), West Seattle, Washington | | August 13, 2009 [ Updated August 17, 2009 ] Just went and checked this place out last night. This shop has a large, varied selection of bottles, with large stock of both imports and domestic beers. I liked that while the selection of Northwest beers wasn’t comprehensive, they had lots of beers I hadn’t seen sold anywhere else in the area. The really neat thing about this place is their taps, they have about ten of them with a rotating selection. I was quite impressed with them and intend to go back with a growler. There’s a set of tables in the place where you can enjoy the beer on site, either from the taps or from the bottles (for an additional fee). I didn’t talk too much to the staff while I was there, but the service was quick, efficient, and friendly.
Update: Went in again for a growler and spent a fair deal longer talking to the staff while selecting my beer. They were knowledgable, helpful, and enthusiastic. | tturner (4), , Washington does not count - explanation | | January 29, 2009 half dozen beers on tap. coffee shop like atmosphere. great staff, incredible bottle selection. |
