I checked this place right after they opened. 7-8 Taps most of which were excellent. The bartender was really knowledgeable about the beer and friendly. It is basically a local hangout. I think you can bring your own food from other restaurants. Great beer for a good price. I left with a growler of their Belgium beer.

Small brewery tasting room with big bar seating 12 or so; room for more to hang and also space upstairs to watch a game or have an event; I went there for a WABL Wyeast lecture held upstairs; tasty brews, growler fills and glasses available; Al has been doing great and has knocked off plenty of handles around down; cheers to more to come and a great addition to the seattle beer community!!

Stopped in while on my holiday vacation. Just down the road from were i was staying. I guess this is the same location as the old Pacific Rim Brewing. Some guy that was in there was telling me a crazy story about how Al bought this place on EBAY??? I don’t know. But any how. They have a good line up for just getting going. The brews were tasty and a very good price. I will stop in every time I am in town.

Alejandro’s got it goin’ on for sure. As of Nov 08, he’s still functioning at kind of a neighborhood level, bringing out new beers all the time and not pouring in every bar in town--yet. What he does pour is great, though, and the vibe at this place is awesome. he has about 8-10 beers in steady production, and a very cool staff. The place looks SO much nicer now than it did as PRB. Brighter, cleaner, friendlier, more welcoming, happier. Upstairs feels like a living room, downstairs feels like a basement bar at your house. Al will give you a tour and he’s a modest, approachable, cool guy. Dig it. Worth the trip over in combination with BPP and Elliott Bay for sure, if you’re an out of towner, and if you’re local, you need to hit this place eventually regardless.

Big Al Brewing out in the West Seattle suburbs is just what the doctor ordered. Big Al Brewing is a huge breath of fresh air the Pac NW beer scene is looking for. Al and I talked for a few hours talking - beer, brewing and the beer business. It was awesome. Oh don’t forget all during which I was also sampling some great beers. Started out with a great Belgium and finished with a thick one time only brew (Lil Al 80 Series Stout). This is a brew they are experimenting with and only do a one time only batch on the smaller barrel system they have set up. Now if the Lil Al brew goes over well that beer then will become a beer they will brew on the large system. So from the start the 5 main brews on tap where just awesome. Loved the Smoked Porter which is the newest of the beers they had just put out. Wow the smokiness was just perfect. So after trying all the beers it was time for the tour. Al took me all over the brewery showing me everything. This was a great time. Al really loves what h
