| robforbes (18), Bremerton, Washington | | May 3, 2009 very large, and seems larger in the late afternoon with only 6 people in the place. dark with art on the wall and branches with birds hanging from the celling.
service was good, no complaints.
selection was very good, about 12 of the brewpubs beers on tap, and another 15 or so to choose from.
overall a good place, but im sure that it is a lot more busy before and after the seahawks, sounders, and mariners, since it is right outside the stadiums. | | Zeswaft (102), Seattle, Washington | | February 11, 2009 Went in the fall for the pumpkin beer tasting. They had like 20 regional pumpkin beers and many of them were really good. I like the Capitol Hill Elysian better. This one is about 2 blocks from Qwest field. A better option for a post football or baseball game beer than Pyramid. Also kind of off the beaten path from Pioneer Square. I remember the service being terrible. | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | November 1, 2008 Huge restaurant area with a significant four-sided bar at its center. Darkly lit, pleasant place to chill and have a beer. Eight regular offerings on tap, along with numerous pumpkin remnants from the recent festival: Dark O the Moon, Great Pumpkin, Night Owl, etc. Solid offerings of the things we tried, attentive and knowledgeable waitstaff, and just immensely big for a serious brewpub. Standardly priced pints along with plenty of free samples of anything they’ve got on tap. | | BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | September 17, 2008 Next stop on my quest to visit every brewery/pub in Washington State was Elysian Fields. I was on a small tasting trip over at Pyramid Brewing which is about 2 blocks away so why not stop when I have the chance. The tasting is a whole other story. Elysian Fields is a brewpub that Elysian set up right after they opened there brewery and it all took off. Right next to the two stadiums I bet this place is full on game days. Rocking to the top on those days when the teams win. The beers are all from the main brewery located off of Pike St. Not too far to travel for the fresh beer. I tried a Imperial Stout the Super Nova and this was a very tasty brew with a strong dark malt backing and a very sweet and strong flavor with a dry finish. This will kick you in the head if you drink it too fast. The food was pretty good spendy is word for this food. 10 bucks for a sandwich damn that is just way too much for a simple sandwich. Glad the beer was pretty good. The service once again was not too good. They just have the attitude of really you want something. Maybe I will get it but in my time not yours. This is just par for the course as I go on my quest for the greatest beer in the world I will have to put up with poor service. Now I can say I have been to all the Elysian brewpubs. Now only to go back for the Great Pumpkin Beer Festival. | | Crit (117), New Westminster, British Columbia | | September 9, 2008 Was here on a game day, hence it was packed, but the service was still quite good. Great selection of their own beers, with 2 guest taps.
Didn’t eat | | Angeloregon (11), Portland, Oregon | | August 30, 2008 Busy hopping spot during Mariner and Seahawks games. This place is lively. Servers seem a little overworked, but they do an excellent professional job. Knowledgeable, friendly and hardworking. The beer selection is stellar. Beers brewed at three locations all kick serious butt. Last time I was at the fields, I enjoyed four different beers of their about 20 on tap (including two different wits). Great ambiance of a fishbowl in a side lounge. I can see people getting frustrated when there’s a lack of seating, but I would rather be here than down the street drinking Pyramid’s mediocre offerings. Love me some Elysian! | ebowman (3), Seattle, Washington does not count - explanation | | August 13, 2008 Elysian is one of my favorite breweries in Seattle, and the Fields bar did not disappoint. A nice atmosphere that is appropriate for the die-hard beer drinker, but also not a bad place to take friends as a start for a night out. Elysian brews a broad range of beers and had a very good selection. Particularly of note were the cask-conditioned IPA and the ESB-style beer on a nitro tap. I can’t say enough good things about the bartender who served us. My buddy and I got samplers, which only included a fraction of the total selection. The bartender kept giving us pours of beer for free. Needless to say, we left very happy. The food isn’t really remarkable as with most brewpubs you go there for the beer and food is a sideshow. If you’re in the area (or in Capitol Hill or Tangletown), a stop at Elysian Fields is a must. Do yourself a favor and hit the Fields for pregame festivities, rather than the extremely lame Pyramid Alehouse. | | roder60 (31), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | July 27, 2008 Seemed like a corporate place with lots of business people there on lunch break. Feel is a but fancier than I thought walking into it. Close to pionier square and stadiums. Food was decent, but not great, and on the expensive side. Had a sampler of 5 basic beer styles, none of which were fabulous. Pike pub is much better. | | theisti (114), Leawood, Kansas | | February 25, 2008 [ Updated February 9, 2009 ] Visited on Feb 11, 2008 with after4ever. The entire design of this place is very open, with very unique art and decoration throughout. At the core, its an old warehouse, so you have a nice blend of old and new in the location. Had a large number of Elysian offerings as well as a few local guests. The bar area is large and spacious, help was excellent the night we were in though it was VERY dead on a Monday night in February. On a previous visit, I had a pasta dish and really enjoyed it. Great place to grab a bite if you are down near the stadiums in Seattle. | | Suttree (86), Knoxville, Tennessee | | November 29, 2007 [ Updated December 27, 2007 ] Stopped by at the end of our walking tour of Seattle. Very cool looking inside and out. It was very open and airy inside. Decent selection of Elysian beers and the waiter was attentive. It seemed kinda like we ther only ones there on a Wednesday afternoon. |
