This is a beautiful brewpub--but you are here for the beer! Hales and Big Time are my two favorite Seattle brewers. Hales produces an incredible array of fantastic beers, excelling in English style ales and hoppy beers. You must try the sample wheel--10 5oz beers for $9-10--you should also get samples ($1 a sample) of whatever else is on tap as they often have superb seasonals or unique experimental beers. Several of their best beers include: Hales Moss Bay Extra Hales Amber Ale Hales Wee Heavy Winter Ale Hales Volkswagon Weisse Hales Dublin Style Stout Hales Drawbridge Blonde and Hales Cream Ale are also two of the best beers for their styles. *If you are sober enough, the Chittenden Locks are a short drive southwest (salmon--fly out of the water swimming upstream in the summer--it has a salmon ladder and an underground aquarium)

Nice place. Parking can be rough. There is very little to be found the side streets are your best bet. An old warehouse converted into a brewery/pub this was a great look inside. Loved that I can go watch and talk to the brewers. Brewing a Red amber ale as we where talking. The brews where fresh and pretty good. They have lots of stuff on n2 and over 12 fresh brews ready to go. The food was pub faire and good also. They allow kids so that is a plus and there is some great atmosphere to soak up while in the Fremont area. This is a must stop in Seattle for brew pubs. Hales has been around along time and will be there for a long time to come. The servers knew the product and where helpful in getting some of the beer info that I was looking for

I have stopped in to Hales a couple times. They have a very nice selection ontap. What is really cool all the stuff they have on Nitro sweet. Also the food was very good. A must for the seattle area.

A very warm, wood-appointed casual setting offering all of Hale’s Ales, a full bar, their small batch (read test-brew ask the server), nitro taps, and a cask. The brewery sports mirrors above the english-style open fermenters in the gallery. They have a nice outside area off of the back (kid friendly) seating area, with space upstairs available for events. Their kitchen leans away from average. While their pizza rocks, I like the Jerk Chicken sandwich, and Brisket. On the Fremont side of 8th Ave. parking is not usually a problem, except for during Hale’s Moisture Festival.

We sat on the patio outside. The have great deals for sampling the beer. I sampled I believe 8 beers, most of which were really good (especially El Hefe).

Based on three visits. Not to be missed. It’s the only place to get some of the great Hales Ales. Recall the ales, but only ate there once, and the memory is fuzzy.

Very good atmosphere, but unfortunately ave not sampled the food yet. Service was excellent, and loved the classic bar styling.

Another must visit brewpub when in Seattle. We went on Sunday morning after visiting Mars Hill (www.marshillchurch.org) because it was right down the street from there. The service was good and food pretty tasty. They had all their normal beers on tap and a not too often seen one - their dry hopped 2IPA. This too is in a cool industrial location and the guts of the brewery are in plain view for all to see. They have a separate bar as well as a restaurant. Enojoyable!

Nice looking place. A lot nicer than what the surrounding area would have you think. This place serves up a couple of excellent house brews. I really enjoy the Barleywine, Mongoose IPA, Wee Heavy and the Moss Bay Extra. The appetizers I’ve had have been really tasty. The nock on this place is the help. To me it seems like college kids who really don’t care. So a few times I’ve been there the service has been less than friendly. Regardless, I’ll be back for more the next time I’m in the NW.

Easy to get to and the bar has a great view of the brewing operation. No sampler available, samples each $1.25. Six in-house brews on tap, plus one cask. I deigned to try only two and they weren’t worth writing home about. Didn’t bother asking about in-house bottles to go. Growlers were available. Guy behind the bar was snotty.
