| Feinschmecker (29), Seattle, Washington | | September 5, 2007 Near Capitol Hill. Very Alternative crowd. The Terminator Stout is really good. | troysworktable (3), Washington does not count - explanation | | January 23, 2007 A friend and I visited at 5:00 p.m. on a Friday night and the place was packed. We grabbed the last available booth and settled in for an ale and dinner. The on tap IPA I had was good. The bacon cheeseburger and fries I ordered were okay, but the bacon and fries were slightly overdone. Service was horribly slow and we were basically neglected. Granted, members of an American Library Association technology convention descended upon the place, but the staff never sped up. My friend and I basically had to beg for the bill. A couple who was waiting for our booth, while we waiting to pay, told us it was unusually busy for that time on a Friday. That doesn’t excuse poor service, however. The decor was funky. Lighting was dim. Most people seemed to be enjoying themselves in spite of having to wait for beers and food. | | bitbucket (46), Kirkland, Washington | | September 3, 2006 Nice place in general: good food, good selection. But the service is a bit spotty. The first time I stopped in they served the food just barely in time to stave off starvation. It has been better since, but nothing to suggest that the staff has any sort of hustle. | | after4ever (86), Brier, Washington | | August 4, 2006 Typical McMenamin’s--likeable but nothing special in the tap lineup, good-to-great pub grub, funky/cool (if professionally designed) decor. This one happens to have crummy parking and worse service, usually, but the urban setting rocks and the windows/view/upstairs are great. Easily worth a visit if you’re on this side of downtown, or on cap hill. Not worth planning a trip around, though, unless you’re drinking at the Stumbling Monk and just need some grub to sop it up. | | JoeMcPhee (202), Jackson Heights, New York | | March 14, 2006 Pretty cool drinking establishment. Fairly eclectic decor. Food was adequate, but nothing really special. Beers were pretty solid on the other hand, and our server managed to keep the whole place served (seemingly single-handedly) on a fairly busy Friday night. Worth visiting. | | BeerLimey (76), California | | August 12, 2005 Just stopped by there for a quick pint on a Friday afternoon. Very slow. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, while the couple of punters I talked to at the bar knew their stuff too. The seasonal bock I tried was pretty good. |
