| highibus (14), Mill Creek, Washington | | August 10, 2009 Nice looking location on a corner, open and bright. Was there with the family and I would probably vote against that for others. Service was kind of I will be there whenever even though I only have 2 tables. Nice enough though. Had ordered a The Trip II for me and a Koolsh for my wife. She liked mine better damn it. So I will have to leave the beer judgement for another time. Need to try more. But food was expensive and not that good. Overall not a great experience. | | after4ever (126), Brier, Washington | | December 12, 2008 Nice little place in a somewhat out of the way neighborhood. If you are in the Seattle area, it is pretty much a given that you will be visiting all of the Elysians. If you are from out of town, it makes sense to combine a visit to this location with a visit to Green Lake and Uber and the Duck. Check to see what is on draft here before you come. There might be something cool on that the other Elysians do not have pouring at the moment. This location does offer guest faucets to other local breweries. The place is well put together and well run. All the fixtures are clean and new. The staff is efficient and active. It is a bit noisy when busy, but you can either sit in the bar and watch a game or treat it like a restaurant in the dining room. In the summer they open the big garage doors that front the busy street, with plenty of foot traffic and people watching flowing by. | | kmweaver (113), Sebastopol, California | | October 31, 2008 Quick stop here for some local pumpkin beer leftovers from the Elysian Pumpkin festival. Had maybe fifteen beers total, about half of which were pumpkin oriented: Hansel & Gretel Pumpkin Ginger, Elliot Bay’s Mashing Pumpkin, PK-47 Pumpkin Malt Liquor, etc. Basic lineup of Elysian beers were available on tap and in bottles, along with some solid Belgian selections (bottles: Chimay, basic De Dolles, etc.). Very friendly service, slightly expensive pints, but plenty of free samples. | | Crit (117), New Westminster, British Columbia | | June 15, 2008 [ Updated September 19, 2008 ] Very attentive bartender, good selection, decently priced. Food slightly above average. Quiet location easy to park.
Was there on a quiet Thursday afternoon, very enjoyable
| | Ibrew2or3 (161), Safety Harbor, Florida | | November 12, 2007 [ Updated November 19, 2007 ] Nice space with multiple roll up windows/doors (letting tons of light in) that lead out to the street in this quaint tiny shopping district. It has a kind of modern feel and look to the place in some respects. The bar surface looks like sheet metal. They have some sixteen beers listed on tap all but three are there’s. Today I see five (had to count twice to be sure because it doesn’t seem right) different pumpkin beer varieties on tap. I was told they had even more a couple of days earlier. There are also two beer engines for select cask dispensing. The food is tasty and has some unique flair. I see a decent bottle selection with about a dozen fairly standard Belgium offering and a few craft brews. One tube here in the corner is tuned to sports. | | mmilrod (12), | | October 19, 2007 A nice neighborhood pub in Seattle’s TangleTown, in the old Honey Bear site. They feature Elysian brews, making some on premise, along with others.
This place allows children outside the bar area. If you are looking for the hip happening spot to see and be seen, this is defintely not for you. However, if you are looking to avoind that seen scene, it definitely IS. Can be hard to find, hence the name, Tangletown. | | Feinschmecker (52), Seattle, Washington | | September 5, 2007 Great selection for this neighborhood. Not too big not too small. We went on a week night and there was not much gong on, which is good sometimes. | | jhumphries69 (20), Tyrone, Georgia | | August 28, 2007 The place was bright and open inside - though not particularly big. They had a good selection of their own (Elysian) brews on tap, a less impressive bottled selection, and some pretty good taps flowing non-house brews. The menu seemed to have an upscale European slant. We just had appetizers (the mussels and the hummus), and they were tasty but not perfectly executed - though still above average fare for a bar. Their house beers were good, and they had a sample. BUT - I really hate pubs, particularly brewery fronts and brew-on-premise places, that do not offer samples for *every* house brew. They offered a sample, but it only had 5 out of 10 house taps. And I couldn’t order samples/tastes of the other 5 (and ordering five points on top of a sampler was also out of the question). So that is the reason my "overall" score is not so high. | | BrewDad (239), Olympia, Washington | | April 1, 2007 [ Updated September 5, 2008 ] We went for Brunch and the place was empty to our surprise. We thought for sure this place would be packed. The food was good and the service was not too bad. The beer was plenty the tasters though small with only 5 and they where pretty good. The parking can be at times tight so be ready if going at night time. This was the first of three different Elysian Brewpubs. They have such a great advertising campaign and the Dragons tooth stout was one of the best I have ever had. Kid friendly. | | DYCSoccer17 (187), Davis, California | | June 13, 2006 Located in a nice neighborhood, this place is rather spacious with plenty of tables. They have garage door windows, which open up on nice days. Bar is on the right with a couple of TVs. There were 10 beers on draft with 2 on cask. Their tap list was not up to date at all. Prices were decent and the service was good as well. I had a turkey sandwich, which was suprisingly good. It was topped with cucumber and asparagus. The fires were tasty and there were large portions of food. I thought the beer was fair, but perhaps over-hopped. The bathrooms were very neat, if not "formal". I probably would have enjoyed this place more if I hadn’t been soaked with rain after I had walked about 6 miles earlier in the day. |
