Beautiful place right downtown, nice use of wood, dark green and brown furniture, huge comfy booths for big Wisconsin bellies; 2 nice looking bars and a cool balcony....food was good, a black bean burger and outstanding waffle fries, fairly typical menu....samples on the small size, and most not that good though nothing was terrible. Is a nice setting, esp considering where you are. I really don’t go for the nautical theme too much. Bar is very nice, bartender was hungover...always a good sign. Friendly place. Food is fine. Walking into this place was like strolling into a lodge in the middle of the Northwoods. Beautiful wood and dark green motif. The staff seems to have a clue about the beer they serve, which tends to be 4 regulars and 2 seasonals. I had the beer cheese soup which was probably the best I have ever had. It’s probably not worth the trek if you’re only in Duluth, but if you’re crossing Northern Wisconsin anyway, be sure to stop. |
