Nice staff on hand with a good selection of their own products, plus the hard to find JD’s Rootbeer from Viking Brewery in Dallas.

Hmm, I don’t know if things have changed since the last review 18 months ago, but I found this to be a very pleasant, cozy environment; they have a back patio where you can order full glasses of the meads ($5 I think) and the gift shop/tasting room is nicely done, homey without being too kitschy. My server was quite helpfull and I got to talk to one of the meadmakers for just a moment. Nice range of products; the sweet mead is absolutely stunning, and I bought a set of the glasses, perfect for strong ciders or meads. Strongly recommended.

It looks like an industrial metal shed, and that’s pretty much what it is. There’s nothing fancy to look at, but they do have just about their entire range up for sampling at the tasting bar. The lady at the counter on Sunday didn’t really know much about mead, but you might be able to luck out during the week when the brewers are there. Worth a stop if you’re heading to Ashland.
