This is an effort to get more "good eats" places, which also have some decent beer selection, added to the Milwaukee section. Palms is a relatively new restaurant in the city’s booming Third Ward area, on the immediate south side of the city. The food is pretty predictable but delicious, but this place has a really nice atmosphere. The street level has a bar on one side and restaurant seating on the other, but upstairs is where the party’s at, with a very nice bar and drinking area spanning the entire upper level. Several fireplaces line the walls and seating is set up for conversation. They have no taps (which, I know, sucks) but they do have an okay bottle selection (Lakefront, Sprecher, Bells, Chimay, etc.) that can pacify you long enough to relax in this atmosphere. More or less, this is a good place for a date or spending some "together time" with an intimate group of friends, not so much a place to fuel your rating resume. It is just about a block away from the Milwaukee Ale House, which could make a good pairing for a good night out on the town.
