10 5oz beers for $12. Went on a Wednesday afternoon in August. Quick waitstaff service, but very slow bar service (there was only one bartender behind the bar). Ambiance is faux rustic, a lot of rough wood style furniture and taxidermy on the walls. Not all that uncommon for the Dells area, actually. Pizza’s acceptable: nice crisp dough, fresh veggies, and a sweeter sauce (it blended well with the Apricot Ale). Serve a thick beer-cheese soup that tastes like a broccoli-cheese soup mated with potato soup. To quote, most of the beers were inoffensive but unmemorable.

Interesting decor that would make a PETA member cry. Tons of animals adorne the walls and the lamps and just about everywhere in here. While there I split the 10 beer sampler and a pizza. First off, the pizza was excellent. Nice thin crust, tons of fresh topping. Now onto the beer. I can sum this up in one word... Meh! Boring and brewed for the masses to make them think they are drinking craft beer. I guess you can’t blame them for doing this in a tourist area. I actually felt sorry for the brewer, knowing they are probably holding him/her back. During the summer, go here during off peak hours, or be prepared to wait hours for a table. We went at 4:30 for an early dinner and beat the rush. The place was jammed packed at 6 when we left.

Had a 10 beer sampler here on a crowded summer Friday night. None of the beers were all that good and I didn’t even finish a lot of the samples. Nothing infected, just very bland and on the watery side of any style. Perhaps when they’ve got a few of their higher gravity beers on tap it might be worth a stop, otherwise it’s a typical run-of-the-mill brewpub.

A really cool looking brewpub all decked out in northwoods stuff, moose heads and all sorts of other dead animals on the walls. Kinda neat if you arent from Wisconsin and seem to think that all of us here decorate our homes like that ) Not too wide of a selection with about 7 different brews available, one in about each of the major styles, nothing remarkable, but decent.

Visited on a Thursday afternoon around 4 PM for some pizza and a sampler. Building looked like a log cabin mansion. Really beautiful and clean. Service was exceptional. Beers were all pretty good, although not the most flavorful. My favorite was the Kilbourn Hop Ale, which had a lot of flavor compared to the others. The thin-crust pizza we had was outstanding. The only problem with this place is that it is in a tourist area, and thus the beers are expensive. $14 for a growler and $11 for a refill. It’s worth a visit if you are in the area, but it isn’t the cheapest place, that’s for sure.

Visited this summer. Definitely has that "Northwoods" feel to it but when you think about it - you’re in WI and you’re in the Dells. The wife loved their delivery car with the moose on top. Based on the other reviews, we had the pizza and it was great! Our service was great also. The beers were good - some were much better than others. It is definitely a place I would go back to on a visit to WI.

Nice place. Norhtwoodsy feel. The beers and food (pizza) are good. The service is not that great. Will go back when I’m in the area.

I’ve been to this place about 4 times and it is hit and miss. The hits are the numbers of beers and the atmosphere. The misses are too often the beer, and the service. I had never gotten pizza before my last visit and that had left me with a bad impression of the food. Plus I had visited in the summer before and it was always crowded and the service was poor. Much better experience recently. Pizza crust is thin (the way I like it) and the service was OK (not great, but OK). Beer seems to have improved markedly of late (2/2006). Glad I have given them another chance.

The beer is very good and you can’t miss this one if you are in the Wisconsin Dells area. I wouldn’t recommend ordering anything other than the Pizza. It is very good and is leaps and bounds better than anything else on the menu.

Like most others, I really enjoyed my visit to Moosejaw. It is a huge, Northwoods lodgy type of place. I was going to order pizza, but was just there with my 2-yr-old son and felt that the personal size was too small and the next size up too big. I ended up having the mushroom & swiss burger. Quite good. Son had a grilled cheese sandwich, which I liked more than he did. Service was exceptional and friendly, although the waitstaff not necessarily overly knowledgable about the beers. Echoing others, there were not necessarily any medal winners among the beers, but they were all well crafted with no glaring flaws. The Blonde Bock I thought was their best beer. Recommended.
