| ajm (68), California | | October 7, 2008 The service is instantly friendly and with a smile. Beer is fairly ambitious - a red, a pale, a sweet stout, a porter, a scotch and menu space for fruit, experimental and Shandy options. Seems like they know what they’re doing. Setup is nice - cozy, but not enclosed (I prefer enclosed drinking, hence the 4/5 on ambiance). I intend to go back within the month. So far, the highlight of Rock Springs. | | iowaherkeye (15), relocated to Santa Rosa f/Iowa, California | | September 20, 2008 [ Updated October 1, 2008 ] Stopped here last night (Friday). Brightly lit standard brewpub, and with it being a Friday, the place had maybe 15-20 people there. We sat down at a table and were all but ignored for 5 minutes until I went to the bar. A waitress asked if we were there for food, and I said nope, just some beer. Her reply was OK good, because the kitchen is closed, and proceeded to walk away. A few minutes later a local yelled at the bartender to give us a beer, which she did. Bob’s is clearly their best beer, though they were out of ~4 of their regular beers (Deja vu with Old Capitol Brew Works, anyone?) That said, nothing stand out here, but I got my first Wyoming rating! As iABUSEDGOAT/i stated, it was kind of a pain in the ass to get toluckily we had GPS. | | ABUSEDGOAT (57), California | | August 23, 2007 Was driving across the country and saw a sign for this place on I80. Not super easy to find, but not hard either... about 5-10 minutes off the exit. Ambiance is typical brewpub, they even let me in 10 minutes before opening. Selection cookie cutter brewpub stuff. Mostly decent, nothing great or interesting. Worth the stop because it’s a brewpub in a region that’s dominated by BMC. Food was a burger, nothing special or exciting. Overall worth the stop only because it was a brewpub in Wyoming haha. | | BrewDad (188), Olympia, Washington | | October 6, 2006 [ Updated September 4, 2008 ] Colorado Road Trip – 2006
After trying to find this place for 30 minutes we finally found it. The roads where messed up so it was hard to find. The staff on the other hand had not a clue about the beer and where slow as ever. I realize we have choices but in Rock Springs not many. The place was nice but hard to see the PBR miners get into this type of beer. I would stop and see it if in Rock Springs, but if you can get somewhere else keep on going.
| | harlequinn (114), Tacoma, Washington | | July 4, 2006 This place was a pain in the ass to find! This town is all town up with construction and the main brdige through town is town completely down. So after getting in lost in downtown Rock Springs, I finally came across this place. I should have kept driving. The staff did not know anything about the beers, and could not tell me about the styles. Did not try the food. | | ratman197 (89), Arvada, Colorado | | April 25, 2006 This place almost seems out of place for Wyoming very clean and modern yet comfortable. The service was great {at least at tyhe bar}. The selection of beers is’nt great about 5 beers but they only serve their own beers and this is Wyoming after all. The food I’ve really enjoyed. After visiting 5 times I’ve never been dissapointed. Overall if your crossing Wyoming don’t pass this place up. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | July 30, 2005 July 2000: Surprising place for a relatively small town. Attractive brick-festooned space. I didn’t eat. I’d go back if I were in the area. | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | December 14, 2004 Decent place, trying to be touristy and upscale I guess. Bartender couldn’t tell me a damn thing, confusing beer names, styles, and confusing the guest tap. I had to ask her a number of times to sort things out and she was getting pissed. Oh well. |
