“A stripmall locatioon with more character than most. There is street parking, but there's also a parking lot next to the building that includes some covered spots under the building, for those inclement-day brewpub crawls. Inside is a long curvy bar and a nice view of the brewhouse through glass behind the bar. There were also plenty of bar and restaurant tables, mostly occupied by families and infants when I visited on a Saturday. Secret room looked sort of like a living room, you'll see it on your right as you head to the toilets. Pretty loud with multiple TVs, fortunately with the sound off. Large taplist of 20+ included some guests and ciders. Barman was friendly enough though a bit slow as he was working solo on a busy afternoon, and it's a very large bar bto cover even on the best of days. Beers were available in flights of six for $13. Decent enough, and a variety of styles, including a tasty WCIPA that was my favorite. Food was tasty and creative. Worth a stop.“

“Lots of booze and wine that I didn't care about. Place is clean and clientele was friendly. Wasn't bothered nor was I helped. One long aisle of warm twelve packs/mixed twelves then a long row of good selection of warm crafts from lesser known corners of New England and the northeast and abroad (mainly Belgians, Germans, Polish but some others), including high-end offerings, and a long row of refrigerators with crafts, macros and ciders (emphasis on crafts). For the most part, prices are clearly marked (maybe slightly to the high side) and they allow you to buy singles and 10% off for mix-a-six. Random display of "orphan" singles in the middle does not have prices marked. One drawback, especially for lovers of IPA's, is that there seem to be a LOT of product on the shelves that is quite old. Didn't appreciate the 4-pack of IPA I bought that was almost 8 months old, but liked the fact that a porter was 10-months aged and other stouts and Belgians were well on their way. Be forewarned!“

“The beer was a bit underwhelming but not terrible. The brewpub overall is pretty cool and they have alot of guest brews to fall back on. Coolest part was the hidden area in back behind the fake wall of kegs.“

“Can be quite loud. Their beer is ok but not all that exciting. To me everything seems overpriced here.“

“Old school Massachusetts style packie. Lots of liquor and wine a plenty of 30 packs. They do have a pretty good selection of craft beers, in fact they had a few labels I didn’t see at Colonial earlier that day. Service was non existent, I wandered around unaccosted for 20 minutes checking out the selection. I did find a bit of out of code beers, and the stuff on the discount racks is not really all that discounted and some being several years old. Pricing seemed to be inline for the area. Good enough selection to stop if in the area, but doesn’t warrant a trip from afar.“

“Great place. Good selection of imports and American micros. Was very impressed when I went in 2010, much less so this time, but still a good place.“

“I stopped in here for the first time on Sunday Amid rows and rows of giant packs of macro lager there is some really great beer in this store. The back wall of the store is fitted with at least a dozen cooler doors with warm shelves opposite holding the bulk of the micro selections. Large format packaging fills the left side wall of the store. Celebration 12 packs for 12 bucks is pretty good for the area. Lots of mass centric brews as well as a fair assortment of the rest of the country and the world. The beer guy came out and asked if he could help me with anything and even made a phone call about some Firestone Walker beer for me. Pricing is average to a bit above. Its a bit of a drive for me, almost as far as Julio’s. I would not hesitate to stop here again if in the area.“

“This store has a nice collection of crafts as well as macros. There is a little something for anyone. One row is devoted to larger singles, another devoted to 12 packs and cases, and there was a cooler full of beers. There are beers I have not seen elsewhere. Local brews included The Peoples, Berkshire, Haverhill, and Opa-Opa in bottles and in growlers. There was a nice collection of Belgians including Westmalle, Debuisson Scaldis, Brouweirj (Duchess de Bougugne), Moinnette, and more widely available ones like Chimay and Piraat. I saw a few one-off dated brews; some going back five years. There is a small knockdown section where you can get beers that are near or past their expiration date for a lower cost. Off to the side is a tasting room with tables and a TV. Prices are fairly reasonable. It is located on busy Rt 2A just a few miles off I-495. Not too hard to find.“

“Much more of a selection for wine and liquor. The beer cooler spans the length of the back of the store and more beer selections line one of the store’s sides. The best beer selection is on the shelving facing the coolers. Beer is difficult to find as it is sorted by country of brewing and not by brewer itself. Not all selections are on the shelves so it helps to chat up the staff and ask for rare beers they keep in the back.“

“One of the best selections in New England, I think they have over 800 beers. Tim is their beer guy and is always helpful with recent additions. Prices are competitive. Very easy to spend over $100 on beer. Most beer is along the back row and on the left side as you go in.“

“I went there because I heard a few weeks ago that they had Alesmith Speedway and Stone Double Bastard. Sadly, they didn’t have either when I stopped in. They did, however, have the second most impressive selection I’ve seen in the area (after Julio’s). There prices seemed more expensive than most places I have been to, but they allowed any 6 pack to be broken up to singles, which I loved.“

“What a place! All kinds of good beer, with America and Belgium well represented. Stone, Moylans, etc. To top it all, they have Alesmith! After 3.5 years on Ratebeer I finally got my hands on Yulesmith, Old Numbskull and the others. Nice discount on singles too. I may never be in Massachusetts again, but if I am then this will be a place to return to.“

“My wife found this place on her way to trader joes in the area. Unbelievable!! First of all the parking is very good, being that it is in Acton the traffic isn’t bad. Secondly they have a recycling center there which is great to bring your old beer bottles to "discount" or off-set the .05 bottle charge. Now lets get to the selections OMG one of the most extensive selections I’ve ever seen. From just about every region I can think of Belgium, US, CAN, Italy, Germany, France, etc. And the prices are very resonable...I tried Midas Touch for the first time from Colonial unable to get at my local package store in Waltham at the time. Colonial is a def must for those looking for a variety of brews at a good price. Also they sell mixed 6 packs for 10% off as well as a mixed 12 pack for 15%. “

“Tim is an excelltent source for trying new things. Experience with all Belgian beers, Micro, English and wines. They are always on the look out for the unusual and have a true passion for beer. I highly recommend going. You will find things you didn’t expect. You can break sixs into singles for tasting.“

“Finally got around to visiting. Good size store, looks fairly new. Clean. Met Ryan the beer & retail ops manager. We chatted for a while about things. Thought he said it was about 700 different brews. Nice coolers with easy walk in. Another staff member helped go through some boxes so I could get some singles. 10% off mix and match six packs 20% off case of the same. Nice place, worth a visit and worth going out of your way for. A great store.“

“A nice, clean, well organized store with a great selection, and best of all, you could get everything in singles if you wanted. Got a 20% discount for buying two mix and matched cases, so that was nice too. Guess I’m lucky they didn’t card me (and I always get carded), because from what Clark says, they probably would’ve denied the sale with my Wisconsin ID.“

“This was the best place to buy beer (selection wise) that I had ever come across (premier gourmet and this are very close) in my humble opinion. Great lambic selection, really great local selection and a ton of English beers, more here than I’ve seen anywhere in the U.S. Good prices, singles on anything and a large section of coolers. Good amount of rare beers and special releases from Victory, DFH, Stone, etc. . . However, these assholes used to sell to me and then decided to start not selling to me on account of my Michigan license. Ok, fair enough, I’ll bring my passport. Nope, "passports are legal identification in Massachusetts, but we choose not to take them here." says the owner. So I had a Passport, a Michigan License and Michigan License plate on my car, I’m buying lambics, but I guess the owner was still afraid I’m underage. . . What a shithead.“
