72 /100 Buchanan’s Bistro (Restaurant) WOODEND BARN Modern bistro located next to Woodend Barn in the outskirts of Banchory. The atmosphere is modern, calm and friendly. The interior is modern farmhouse style. Food is brilliant - everything sourced as local as possible and hence incredibly fresh and tasty. They do a series of foods boards (fish, cheese, sheep’s cheese, meat etc) which are delicious. The beer selection (all bottled) is way better than usual restaurants in the area. It comprised of an extensive Williams Brothers range, as well as: Traquair, Deeside, Cairngorm and Innis and Gun. Spirits and wine selection is equally as impressive. A great restaurant with interesting beer selection makes this a must visit. UPDATE: Since 2014 they now brew their own beer. Style range is eclectic from traditional to obscure. You can drink in or take away. |
